HEER'S POV

The coming day passed in a haze with me practicing for my exams and Ayaan busy with some office work. It was finally the day of the charity event hosted by the Singhania capital . I had called Anaya right after my and Ayaan's small talk to disclose to her the news of Reyansh being her boss. She just started complaining more, and I regretted telling her.

Right now, I was in my room getting ready for the party. Ayaan had sent me a dress with matching heels and jewelry to go with it in the evening. He had arrived some time ago and was waiting downstairs.

I did some final touch-ups with my makeup and grabbed a matching clutch. I made my way downstairs. Ayaan stood by the sofa, and the clicking of my heels made his eyes look up.

He watched me coming down the stairs, his expression changing with such force that a shiver ran down my spine. I reached him as he smiled a little, looking at me.

"You look beautiful," words escaped his lips. A blush rushed to my cheeks at his comment as I looked down. A smile made its way to my lips, maybe because this was the first genuine compliment he had ever given me.

I looked at him, and he looked devilishly handsome clad in a black tuxedo, matching my black gown.

He held out his hand as we made our way toward his black BMW waiting outside. He made me sit in the passenger seat as he sat in the driver's seat and drove to the destination.

The place wasn't far, and we reached it in about 15 minutes. Ayaan opened the door as we walked out together, my hand holding his bicep.

Paparazzi were scattered at the entrance, blocking our way inside. My breathing increased seeing so many people, and Ayaan noticed.

He bent towards my ear. "Breathe, Heer," he said as he stood straight.

A single glare from Ayaan was enough to silence the paparazzi. We walked inside, and the atmosphere completely changed. It felt like entering a different world. The outside environment didn't interfere with anything inside, as everyone was quietly talking in groups and greeting each other, soft music playing in the background.

Everyone here screamed extremely rich. As we entered through the gate, everyone's attention turned towards us. A deafening silence filled the hall. Of course, Ayaan Shekhawat had entered. He looked confident while I grabbed his hand tightly. He looked at me and nodded lightly, maybe reassuring me, and it helped. I walked beside him as people gave us looks.
