AYAAN'S POV:
where the hell has he brought me,i thought as i stood in a crowded bakery.ishaan was in the line buying stuff while i went find some seats for us.i was walking forwards when i heard a voice from behind
"uncle 'han"someone tugged my trousers as i looked was a small kid,almost 4 years old i guess.
his eyes watered lookin at me as i frowned.
"hey kiddo,are you lost"i asked him as i squated down to his level.
he nodded sniffing his tears"no uncle 'han"he said as i tried to understand
"you cant find your uncle??"i countered as he nodded,hurriedly
"ok then lets find him,come on"i said.even i didnt know why i did that.i was not good with kids and i dont care,but right now this kid made me want him to feel safe.
i sighed. im going crazy.the kid was too small the crowd so i picked him up on my shoulders.
"if you see him tell me,okay"i said as he nodded
we searchh for 5 minutes when i heard someone calling out
"vikansh!!vikansh"someone called out as i turned my head upswards
"is your name vikansh,kiddo"i asked as he muttered a small yes pointing towards the voice
i followed the voice. it was a guy.vikansh got of my arms running into what i suppose was his uncle.
the guy turned towards me,and it looked like i'd seen him somewhere put couldn't point out"thank you so much dude,you dont know how worry i was"he said forwarding his hand for a shake.
i looked up at him.he was a tall guy maybe 6ft but shorter than me.having hazel eyes and a tan complextion he was the literal opposite of me.
i shook his hands back"no problem"i look down at the kid"stay with your uncle now kiddo,okay"i joked as he smiled.everything went silent and i inhaled a sharp breath.he smiled just like her!
"are you okay"the guy asked breaking my trance.
"what--yeah,have a good day"i said
"you too"he replied turning around
"lets go dude,i've got everything"ishaan came up behind me breaking my trance.i shook my head,what was i thinking.
~~~
we reached the hotel late at night as i forced ishaan to get his own room.he still grumbled as he unlocked his room.
"i dont know when did you start hating me so much"he said
"i dont hate you,i just dont want to share my bed with you"i told him
"same thing"he said dramatically as i rolled my eyes
"give me the usb file for tomorrow meetings"i asked ishaan
he sighed"go to sleep ayaan,we'll check it tomorrow"he told
"im not sleepy so give it to me"i said forwarding my hand as he hesitantly took it out of his jeans pocket dropping it into my hand.
i went inside as i dropped myself on the chair.resting my head on the back of the chair i closed my eyes.ishaan was right,i was tired.but i couldnt sleep.everytime i closed my eyes everything came rushing back like a film.
i opened my eyes again inserting the files getting them ready for tomorrow's meeting"
~~~~~
my alarm rang as my eyes opened up.i looked around as i sighed.i had fallen asleep,i checked the time,for 2 hours.i got up getting ready for the day.
ishaan came up knocking on my door as we discussed the meeting before making our way out.
ishaan had stopped at the counter to give his room keys back,ashe was going back from the evening flight,while i had the next morning one.
i waited outside as i looked around when someone caught my attention.i saw a kid running after a ball coming towards the road.i looked at the other side to see a car coming in full speed. it didnt seem to notice the running kid and neither did the kid have any clue.
As I sprinted forward, my bag slipped from my grasp, hitting the ground with a dull thud that caught the attention of bystanders. Their eyes were drawn to the unfolding drama, but they remained rooted to their spots. My heart raced as I focused on the child, oblivious to the speeding car.
With a burst of adrenaline, I lunged towards him, shoving him out of harm's way. The world seemed to slow down as I felt the brutal impact of the car against my left side, a searing pain ripping through me as I was thrown to the ground, rolling to a stop on the unforgiving pavement.
A crowd quickly gathered, forming a circle around me. Their murmurs reached my ears, a distant and disjointed hum as I lay there, pain radiating from every part of my body. Through the haze, I heard frantic shouting—a voice I knew well.
"Ishaan," I thought, barely clinging to consciousness.
"Call the fucking ambulance!" Ishaan's voice rang out, thick with panic and urgency, cutting through the fog clouding my mind. I struggled to stay awake, fighting against the heavy pull of darkness. But the world around me was fading fast. The cacophony of sounds—shouting, sirens, pleas—blurred together, becoming a distant echo.
As my strength waned, my vision dimmed, and the last remnants of light flickered out, the darkness closed in, swallowing me whole.
