Taehyung Pov:
My eyes shot open; my body was drenched in sweat. My heart raced as I tried to orient myself. My room was dark and silent, but the voices in my head were loud and clear. I sat up, breathing heavily, realizing I had nightmare again.
"No," I hugged myself closing my eyes and patting on my side slowly. "It's over. They can't hurt you anymore."
But no matter how far I tried to distance myself from my past, it always seemed to find a way back into my life. The scars they left were deep on my body and on my mind, and sometimes it felt like they would never fully heal.
I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. I sighed and looked up at my reflection in the mirror, but my eyes were tired.
"You can do this," I told myself. "You're no longer part of that family, don't let the past control you."
I took a deep breath and walked back to my bedroom. As I lay back down, slowly, I began to relax, allowing myself to drift back into sleep.
Next morning,
I got ready for college. I chose a simple, clean outfit and took a moment to tidy my room before heading downstairs. I grabbed my backpack and made my way to the front door just as Jungkook pulled up in his car. He honked the horn twice, signaling his impatience.
"Hurry up, Taehyungshiiii!" he shouted from the driver's seat, smiling widely.
I rolled my eyes but couldn't help smiling back. I hopped into the passenger seat, and we sped off towards Jimin's place.
When we arrived at Jimin's house, he was already waiting outside, leaning against the gate with his backpack slung over one shoulder. He sat on the backseat, and we were off to college.
