WOOYOUNG

Chapter Ten:
After the phone call with Yeosang, there was subtle yet sweet aroma making its way into the air inside the bedroom, a scent that instantly brought a sense of nostalgia to a core memory from years ago. A smile grew on my face as I quickly sped through my oral hygiene, which was conveniently available in the bathroom as there was a stockpile of different toiletries available to choose from. The whole ordeal was unbelievable, but I brushed off the feeling and focused on confirming my suspicions on the lingering scent.
There's no way...it can't be...
Stepping out as quietly as possible, I saw San at the kitchen stove cooking, but my eyes also took notice of the oven being on under him. With a discreet peak at what was baking, there was a silver tray inside, and I couldn't help but feel warmth grow inside my heart at the sight and onto my cheeks.
San was making the one thing I've always missed, something that became an old tradition for us ever since high-school: Japanese Fluffy Pancakes. The last time we ever had these were the last weekend of senior year, which was also the last weekend we had before graduation. I couldn't help but feel a small sense of relief that by unexpected chance, we were able to come back together again.
It wasn't until I saw San crack a few eggs into a bowl that I decided to rush and hug him from behind. He easily tensed up, but I didn't fully trust myself to face him yet, so I murmured softly. "Good morning Sannie..."
"Good morning, Woonie..." He replied just as softly, relaxing a little in my embrace. "How'd you sleep?"
"Really good... which is why I came to tell you that it's actually a crime to have a mattress that soft by the way." I muttered playfully, still trying to calm the blush on my cheeks.
A chuckle escaped his lips before he sarcastically apologized. "Sorry?"
With a pout, I pulled away from him before sighing. "You're not, but it's fine..." I paused, glancing down at the frying pan filled with eggs and then the oven again before biting my lip. All I wanted was verbal confirmation of my assumptions from him. "Sannie...are you making what I think you're making...?"
"What am I making, Woonie?" He teased with a raised eyebrow, already knowing that I knew the answer.
The blush instantly returned to my cheeks, and with a smile and shake of my head, I whispered quietly. "You're making the pancakes...the pancakes..."
San smiled his crescent-moon smile and nodded. "I am..." he paused before tilting his head curiously. "...is that okay?"
"Of course it is...I haven't had it since-" I bit my lip from smiling, but the last memory brought a sad sigh from me instead, "...since our last weekend of senior year..."
