Benjamin

The sounds of birds woke me up, I sat myself up on my bed and looked around, my eyes hit the sunlight. It has been a few days since we got the news from Celeste and I still can't think about it.
The goddess herself has given Celeste visions before and nothing happened but this time, I can feel it to my core that something is going to happen and that will destroy us all.

'Goddess Agatha has said that we all are in danger. She said chaos is on its way and that we must find peace before it happens or otherwise she will bring a storm upon us. That it will end us.'

I remember her words clearly and ever since, I can't stop thinking about. I got up from my bed and walked towards my wardrobe. I changed into my uniform because today is important. I have to sit all day and talk with women from all kingdoms and daughters from the lords.

They are coming to meet me, to meet the crown prince and that i must choose one of them. I hate being in this position but I have to.
As the crown prince of this kingdom, it is my duty and responsibility to do so. Alexander says that I don't have to but deep down, he knows I have to.
For the sake of our bloodline to continue and prevent wars from different kingdoms and regions. As the oldest, I need to do this even when I don't want to.
A sudden change of vibe changed as my brother, Alexander walked into my chamber without knocking and I gave him a glare with my eyes shot at him. I see him only wearing black clothes and he knows today is important for me.

'Must you always wear black clothes? Do I have to change your whole wardrobe and give it some color?' I say, turning to face the mirror and see my own reflection and I see him in the reflection too as he walks closer, and closes the door behind him.

'You're saying I can't wear all black anymore? You're joking with me, are you?' He says while looking towards my reflection and sees my face as I see his.

'No, I didn't say that. You can wear whatever you want but all black?'

I chuckle and he hears my tone as knows I am only teasing him.

'Black is my favorite color. And hey, I am not wearing just black. There is a white shirt underneath my jacket. I will take my jacket off later, not now.'

I turned around to face him and gave him a gentle tap on his shoulder with a smile on my face.

'It still looks great on you, dork.' I stood next to him and he turned around too so we both could leave together and go to the main hall.

Where I am going to meet the princesses and daughters from the lords.
I officially hate this day forever. I hate being the crown prince but still brought a smile when we got to the main hall. I see the chair where I am going to sit for hours. As I take my steps towards the chair, I realize, there is no going back because all eyes are on me now.
I stand next to the chair and sit on it as I see the rest of the audience. They are all watching me, fake smiling and chatting about me with each other. I hear them. They think I am their dumb crown prince but I am not. I am the crown prince of this kingdom and I hate being it because all the pressure is on me.
I want it to end. Me and my brothers are all heirs to the throne, our father made sure of that. I loathe my father deeply. He is the reason why I hate my position. One day, I will show him             I am more than just a pawn for him.
I hear my brother cough and that's his sign of communication, wanting to tell me something and I turned my face towards him. He is looking down on me as he is standing next to me.

'I am right here, okay? You are not alone.' He taps on my shoulder and I give him a gentle smile back as my response. Alexander is the reason why I am still here.

'I know and I am thankful for it.' I tell him and he smiles back. Then we turn our faces in front to hear the door open. We see the line of girls that got chosen to be here. The line is endless and at that moment, I want to scream and simply die.

'Are you sure you're going to make it through tonight?' He asks me, knowing I probably won't.
'I will be fine, as long as we can keep war away from our kingdoms, I will be fine.' I paused for a short minute and waited for the girls to come in. They are in line and I smile towards him. An old man starts presenting their names and my hell starts now.
