Raeliana

My eyes slowly wake up, looking around the room and noticing I am no longer in Lorenzo's arms anymore. My whole body is on fire and it hurts. I gently sit up on the bed and I'm all alone in the room. I wince from the pain I feel from moving. How long have I been out for? I look down on my body, my arms and legs are covered with bandages.
Then it hit me, someone was assigned to kill me and the man who tortured me, I killed him with his own dagger. I am a killer, I am not worthy of holding such titles as the princess of house Serenity and Emeria kingdom. But that man deserves rot in hell. I try to get up from the man, it takes me several minutes to gain my strength back and I slowly stand on my feet.
The voice of the woman who is still a mystery to me, I can hear her say something to me. It's distant at first but after a few seconds passes, I hear her voice as if she's right next to me.

'Claim your throne,' she says, 'They will hunt you down, my child.'

Agatha, she has been calling me that and I wonder why. What am I to her? Should I ask her? Questions run through my head fast. She then vanishes, again. I look around the room once more and notice this is a nursery room where they take care of people who are injured and need help.
There is a door and I step forward to it, as I get there I open the door immediately and there is an endless hall. Nobody is out here. I take a step out from the nursery room and end up closing the door behind me. I lean against the wall so I can hold something and not fall down.

My fingers are tracing against the cold wall. As minutes pass, my legs grow more tired and will lose my balance soon. Where is everyone else? Then that voice appears once more in my ears as I hear her say something to me.

'Look up, ' She pauses for a moment but she continues to talk. 'The sky, not the roof.'

I obey her, taking slow steps closer against the window, opening the window and my eyes meet the sky that appears to be red, once more. Panic rushes through me, horror and terror. Is everyone dead? Not again. This cannot be happening again.
Then, I see her. Up in the air, she has black wings that are large. Brown hair, hair long enough to be one meter long. She looks beautiful, and elegant. Her eyes are slightly red, filled with rage and anger. Destruction underneath her cloak. At that moment, I feel paralyzed and my legs go numb. It clicks. I realized it.
She is a divine goddess from old age. The older gods and goddesses. I have heard about them, the divine are powerful, intelligent and dangerous. Once a god is born, destruction is on its way. Gods and goddesses were once so powerful that they could overpower the whole world. They hide now and this is the first time I actually see one in front of my eyes. My heart is beating fast.

'Scared?' A hint of grin appears on her face as she talks to me from the sky and looks down on me.

'Yes.' I don't lie. My legs are shaking, in fact, my whole body is. My breaths are heavy and shaky. Like I cannot put words into my mouth and say them.

'Good, you should be, my sweet child.'

'Why do you call me that?' I ask her, in a shaky voice.

One moment she is up in the sky, looking down at me with her red eyes, and suddenly she is in front of me.

'Because you are my child.' She says bluntly with a smile on.

I go blank for a minute, then I shake my head, not believing her. I possibly couldnt be her child. She forms a smile on her lips, she caresses my cheek tenderly like a mother to her child.

'Yes, you are. Of course not my biological daughter, but still. I have grown to like you, Raeliana Raeliana. You are something else.' She puts her hand away from my cheek. 'I see you again, for now, I have to go again.'

In the background I hear a male voice, immediately recognizing who the voice belongs to. It's Lorenzo who is walking closer to me. I turn my face to see him as he is standing next to me now.

'Were you just talking with someone?' He asks me, his face looks concerned and confused. I look back and the goddess is longer here. I don't want him to find out about this. I turn to face him as he looks down on me and I shake my head. My eyes meet his ocean eyes.

'No.' A fine lie that slipped out of my lips.

'Are you sure? And are you feeling better?' He asks me with a genuine smile on his lips, his eyes gazing on my eyes.

'Yes, I am sure.'

'And are you feeling better?'

I don't know how to answer him, I keep myself quiet and my silence is my answer to him. That I am fine at all. After what I've been through in my life and that assassin who was assigned to kill me.

'It's okay. You don't have to say anything.' His words are with kindness, it fills my heart with warmth and tenderness. 'You've been sleeping for three days, so i was worried.'

My eyes widened. I have been sleeping for three days. I open my mouth to respond but the words in my throat are stuck.

'Three days?'

He nodded to my question that I needed to be confirmed.

'Yes, and everyone has been worried sick about you.'
