I woke up and saw again those white-gray walls around me. A syringe pushed inside my left hand vein and an oxygen mask covering my face. The little beeping sound on heart monitor was all I can hear.

The door of my hospital room pushed wide open and my mother with Dr. Parker entered. Dr. Parker was my all time doctor who was taking care of me since I was 11 and discovered I had atrial septal defect which means a hole in my heart. She was a tall heighted brunette woman, she wore a doctors lab coat and a stethoscope around her neck. She greeted me with a warm smile and started examining me and removed my oxygen mask. My mother on the other hand sat near me holding my hand.

Dr. Parker "how are you feeling now Elaine?"

"Just fine and hungry" I replied truthfully.

My mother took out a bowl from her bag as well as my favorite tomato soup. She said "I knew you would be hungry hun, your father is just outside parking the car" . My doctor and mother helped me to sit up straight on my adjustable hospital bed. The salty and sweet aroma of soup filled my nostrils but before getting my face down the bowl. I asked doctor "Dr. Parker how much time do I have now?"

Dr. Parker smiled and said "who said you don't have time? Your vitals are strong and your health is improving. You just need to rest a tad more and enjoy life". My heart slowed down a bit hearing doctor's word but everyone knew the truth that I am dying every passing minute. My mother shook me from my thoughts and exclaimed "tomorrow morning you'll be discharged and you can attend the first day of your college OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. I am so proud of you". I put on the fakest smile on my face one can ever see... I'm Elaine Braine, 19 years who live in Bellbrook, Ohio, USA the most unlucky girl on this planet who dreamed of becoming a zoologist one day. I have a hole in my heart because of which I can't get through one month without visiting a hospital.

Well tomorrow I'll drive to Columbus which is a one and half hour drive from my home to university, I would have drive there yesterday in my Prius and enjoyed the scenic beauty of my uni but because of my bad luck I am at this lame pale hospital. Tomorrow will be a hectic day as I have to settle in my dorm and rush towards the classes. Hope tomorrow will be a bright new day just kidding I know its gonna suck...
