Chapter 12

We were in Felix's car and were heading towards the ice-cream shop. I had oodles of question pondering in my mind. Like are we really going to an ice-cream parlor or he wants to kill me because he's an assassin and get money out of selling my body parts. Ouch, I don't want that. Urgh!!!! This silence is killing me and I wanna know if he had heard anything about Samantha or whatever I said about everyone and especially him. That's it I am breaking this silence.

"Er... umm..." I said with a cough but he doesn't have any effect. He is acting like I am invisible or something. Try again said my subconscious

"Fe..Felix what car is this?" my voice is shaky. Phenomenal Ele you asked him about his car like he's taking you on a date or something.

"It's a Ford Expedition" he said it with a grin. Obviously!! Proud of his car. The leather seat is really prosperous I must say!!!

"Which parlor you said we are going?" I quizzed

"I didn't said any name and please I am not going to slaughter you and sell your body parts into pieces if that's what you are conjecturing." He stated with a wicked smile on his face.

"You are an asshole, you know that" I mocked.

"You mean green emerald hot model cut out from vogue magazine asshole?" he raised an eyebrow. Oh my boy he heard everything, every little microscopic term that uttered my mouth. Oh no he knows. Shit, shoot, mother of Mary he knows.

"Were you eavesdropping on me? And-"abruptly Felix hit the brakes and if I hadn't being wearing a seat belt I might have hit my forehead with interior rear view mirror. "What the fuck is that? I am sure you are trying to kill me, you prick" I yelled

"We are here little Barbie don't strain your voice" he said gritting his teeth.

We were standing in front of Jenis the ice-cream parlor. I didn't know they opened this late; the shop was glittering with assorted lights of colors pink, white, blue and red. Although the shop hold syrupy and chocolaty aroma but the area was desolated. Maybe because we are here at 3 or 4 in the morning or maybe we are in the middle of nowhere.

Felix pushed the door and the little bell above the door chimed with mellow. An old aged woman in her sixties with grey hairs and wrinkles on her face was working on the cash counter. She was wearing a pink apron and was consumed with her work. Felix and I approached to her.

"Hey Betty, if you want to marry me you don't have to pay me" Felix said with an adorable smile. His dimples are really deep. I wonder why I haven't noticed it before... Oh yes! He is an arse...

"Oh! Felix my sweet sweet baby..." Betty said with an appealing smile. "How are you...? You came after a month to see me and eat an ice-cream with-" she paused then looked at me and smiled "with your girlfriend. I must say she is charming. Wait let me call Leo; he needs to see you two together"

She hastily ran passed through us and into the door. I was gaping at Felix who was equally flabbergasted as me. But he quickly recovered and went around the fridge. He picked up one ice cream cone and asked raising his perfect eyebrow "Which flavor do you want?"

"I....I..." I wanted to shout are you going to let her assume we are together but my mind had already lost her words "Salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks" I said it in a dash.

Felix scooped out the ice-cream and hand it over to me. He for himself picked darkest chocolate and sat on one of the tables. "Are you going to lick your ice-cream when it'll melt completely on the floor?" He quizzed licking his ice-cream God his lips are perfect. Stop it Elaine...

"Why'd you let her estimate that I am your girlfriend?" I whispered to him.

His lips were set in a flat line. He opened his mouth to say something but closes it too expeditiously. "Don't say anything" he said it with gritted teeth.

"Felix" exclaimed an elderly looking man.

"Leo"

"How are you? And why are here so late? I mean it's good to see you buddy but is everything alright? Is it Jaimie?"Leo questioned promptly

"No, honey... Felix is here with his girlfriend.. umm what's your name dear? I forgot to ask" Betty asked me with a warm smile

"Oh hey... I... I am Elaine and-"

"And we just wanted some ice-cream" Felix cuts me and replied curtly. I want to kick and assault him till he begs me to stop. But for now i am just smiling like a lunatic.

"Right you both enjoy and we... well we will be right here if you need anything" said Betty and hugged Felix and me then walked away.

"Are they your parents?" I asked

No reply. I am getting used to him not answering to my interrogating questions.

We both half finished our ice-creams and I inquired another question. Maybe he'll explain that.

"Who is Jaimie?"

He paused and gaped at me with horror in his eyes. Then his expression changed from pure dismay to being annoyed. Boy!!! He is a mercurial man. Fifteen minutes have been passed since we finished our ice-creams and we didn't even say a word either to leave or to stay. I rolled my eyes and was about to get up.

"Jaimie is my sister and she died 3 years ago because of me" Felix said letting out a tear.
