Chapter 11

I rubbed my eyes, yesterday's events still hazy.
But in the end they all came back to me, from being sober at a party to walking into the forest completely drunk to Nic saving me.

I looked across the room just to still find him sleeping on the couch, where we once both laid.

I stood up and walked across the room to the kitchen, determined to cook something. Ps: I'm a horrible cook. When I got up the corset pressed into my body. Gosh this hurts, how did I even sleep with this.

So I took it off, I didn't wear a shirt beneath it but my lacy bra was enough.

Only then did I realise that most of the cupboards were empty. Except for the few that had snacks like chips in them or other snacks. Bingo, there it was CEREAL.
I looked for milk as well, that wasn't as successful.

I found some teabags in another drawer, so tea and cereal it was.

Turns out I can't even make water boil without messing it up. I really don't know what went wrong, but once the water started boiling I went to get a teabag, that's when it all went wrong.
The water started to overflow.

"Oh shit." I muttered to myself, that's when Nic's eyes fluttered open.

He must've seen the helpless shock on my face, after all he basically ran across the room and took care of it.

"I'm so sorry, I just wanted to make you some breakfast, after all you kind of saved me yesterday."

He grabbed a washcloth and cleaned up the mess I made.
"It's okay Eve don't worry. Why don't we go out to eat something. I know this place, it's on the way to your house, so I could drop you off afterwards."

"Yeah breakfast out does sound good and thank you again for everything."

He took a sharp breath, then his gaze dropped, suddenly making me extremely aware of my attire.
"You're welcome. Maybe you should change before we go, I have some shirts here if you want one, that corset looked back breaking."

"Yeah, that's probably for the better, if it's not too much to ask, I'd love a shirt."
He walked towards the couch, where he was still sleeping a few minutes ago. He picked up a navy blue shirt and handed it to me.

I pulled it over my head, it was a little oversized, it laid on my skirt. Thank god you could still clearly see that I WAS wearing bottoms, otherwise I would've had to ask him for bottoms too.

"Oh shit!"

Suddenly he looked extremely concerned. "What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

I shook my head. "I need to call my parents to tell them I'm okay, and Cass!"

He turned around walking towards the couch again, he leaned down to pick something up. My phone!
"I plugged it in for you last night, just give them a call."

My heart was burning up by this casual gesture. "You did? Thank you."
I took my phone and idled the first number. Cass.
She picked up on the first ring. "Oh my god Eve! Where the fuck are you? You suddenly disappeared, I was worried as fuck!"
"Don't worry Cass, I just went home early, I didn't feel well and then my phone died. I'm sorry for making you worry."

With that we said our goodbyes and I hung up.

My parents

The phone rang a few times before they picked up.
"Evangeline Williams where the hell have you been? We were worried sick." This was my mother speaking, in her usual formal voice.

"I'm sorry mum, I slept over at Cassidy's and forgot to text, I'm sorry. It wont happen again."

"Ok honey, as long as this doesn't happen again. We would just like to know where you stay for the night. Anyway since you finally called, your father and I need to leave now, can you come home soon and watch Alex?"

For fucks sake. "Sure mum, I'm just going to breakfast with Cassidy so that could take a while."

"Oh yeah don't worry, just come home soon, we'll be home in the evening."

I hung up the phone after I said my goodbyes.

Nic looked at me again with concern. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah everything is great, they were just worried. So, let's go get some breakfast."

He pulled the door open and gestured for me to go first.
