When king cold appears on namek he immediately gathers up most of the villagers wanting to know wher frieza is, once he found the truth he started to torture them first to get the dragon balls and 2nd to find out the people who had killed frieza.

During the torture nail who was knocked unconscious immediately when king cold appeared had woken up, he looked at his fellow namekian warriors and knew what they had to do. Slowly they were fusing together no one noticing due to the dozens of namekians that were there in 1 location. Eventually the tropper did notice but he tried to get king colds attention only to be ignored from being a weakling.

Eventually king cold did notice there were less namekians around as nail had fused with 1/4 of the namekian population, this had risen is power above king cold only because of the power increases that alot of namekians had received. Nail and king cold fight as nail wins he kills all of the tropper that were on the planet and after a while moori the guardian had used the namekian dragon balls to reverse the fusion and revive namekian who did die as a result of king cold.

Meanwhile on earth 3 year pass, during these years raditz and bulma get married and trunks is produced, piccolo wanting to achieve a higher power level had used the dragon balls to wish for his time in the time chamber to be reversed allowing him to go in for another 2 years. At the same time raditz, nappa, vegeta and goku are all training to achieve super saiyan, goku managed to control it during the 3 years vegeta also got it but raditz and nappa were unable to only nappa getting small sparks of the potential to get it. Even with raditz potential unlock he couldn't grasp getting the form however was able to fully control his great ape transformation. Gohan has also dived a bit deeper in his training, training rather consistently throughout the time skip with chichi being supportive since its basically gym class.

Piccolo would move his place from kame house to kamis lookout as roshi is proud of the development of piccolo as a person and his strength. Although this time was a time of peace cooler frieza brother had come out of hiding to fight against the z team, vegeta and goku did go super saiyan to fight the monster however it wasn't enough.

Raditz had come in great ape transformation, but it wasn't enough, in the end krillin after unlocking an even greater level of power above the saiyans was able to take down alien. Krillin had been training during the time as vegeta would remind the group of king cold so to perpare for king cold he has trained at a high intensity. By the time cooler had come his base was above the likes of frieza in his full form he only was able to do this by training with tien, chiotsu and piccolo with the help of a gravity room.

Tien after training with king kai had showed the group a nnre technique that he learned which was kaiken, a technique that allowed him to multiply his power by various stages. He's mastered to the point of 10x the same power up as the great ape transformation of the saiyans.

Vegeta continues to train after unlocking super saiyan fully realizing the true power he could be getting when training, after unlocking the form he does throw away goku, nappa and raditz as training partner opting now to train on his own using the gravity room. In response goku and krillin increase there training routine knowing that if vegeta does end up becoming stronger than the earthlings that could mean vegeta would kill the group and take over earth so to avoid that future they are forced to train.

When nappa is thrown away by vegeta raditz and him actually have a sort of friendship being with disposable for the Prince, vegeta is sent off away from bulma main house but is still taken care of financially afraid what vegeta would do if he wasn't well off. While raditz lives with bulma his wife and nappa who softens up after a few years on earth becoming babysitter for trunks, and due to his age he is slowly becoming weaker him reaching his peak.
