"One thing is for sure, Josh sure knows how to ruin a party." I smiled sadly as Sam sat next to me, holding me.
I had told Sam everything. I trusted him. He deserved to know all that had happened and all I had felt.
"As usual." Sam rested his head on mine.
"How'd you even get acquainted with the Hutcherson's?" I asked, looking up at him.
"When they first moved in, my mum insisted we greet them with food and presents. Even though they'd lived in this area for practically their whole life. Of course, Josh's mum instantly became best friends with my mum and I went over there a lot. At first, surprisingly I only really got along with Daniel. Josh was always with a girl. And Michael didn't care. But then Josh had a break-up, and we finally got to know each other. He's been my best friend since. When you left I had no one." Sam explained.
"I wish I hadn't gone." I said simply.
"Me too." Sam kissed my forehead lightly.
"But now I'm back." I croaked.
"Now you're back." Sam repeated, clutching my hand.
We sat in silence for a little. I felt better this morning compared to last night. Sam had comforted me and made me realise how Josh was. I had made the decision to have nothing to do with him, and if attempted, we could be distant friends.
"Hey, I'm going to their house in an hour, wanna come?" Sam broke the silence.
"I don't think thats the best idea after last night." I bit my lip.
"You could talk to Michael and Daniel? Probably Nate too. I'll keep Josh distracted." He laughed.
"Fine." I sighed, burying my head in his chest. I hope the boys were up for conversation, because I was not looking for a moment alone with Josh.
"Get dressed, lazy." Sam got me up.
"Can I go in my pajamas?" I yawned as he went to the door to leave me to change.
"Sure; but just for the record, you will probably be pushed in the pool." He winked before shutting the door.
"Great." I groaned, going through some shorts and singlets.

"Sam's here!" Daniel called from inside, rushing to the door to open it in surprise.
"And so is Jen! Score!" Daniel grinned at me, ushering us inside.
I stepped into the familiar house. It had been cleaned up a lot compared to the state it was left in last night. I followed Daniel to the lounge with Sam at my side.
As we stepped in, two unfamiliar girls were sitting on the couch, watching us. I heard Sam laugh as the girl with blonde hair got up to greet him. They hugged tightly as Sam referred to her as "Anna". She had blonde hair and blue eyes, a button nose and a beautiful white sundress.
The other girl sat on the couch still, sighing. She had brown straight hair, hazel eyes and was very stunning. Both of the girls were. I was about to greet the girl on the couch but she seemed uninterested.
"I missed you Sam!" Anna had a friendly kind of vibe as Sam released her.
"I missed you too An. This is Jennifer, my best friend." Sam introduced us, Anna shaking my hand politely.
"Hey. I'm a friend of the boys. And this is Jess, one of my best friends and also a friend of the boys." Anna smiled. The girl on the couch, Jess, looked up for a second, studying me, before flicking out her phone.
