PAIN. - That's what Jade felt as she made contact with the building behind her, the sudden contact on her back sending an immense discomfort she's never quite experienced before through her body.

Her bones within ached, her muscles burning. She slid down the shattered glass of the skyscraper wall she'd hit, letting out a groan.

She continued to lower, finally reached near the floor and falling to her knees. Tears of anger formed in the corner of her eyes as rocks on the pavement dug into her palms and knees. She slowly stood, getting to her feet as gasps and screams echoed through the street.

Blood seeped into her suit, becoming visible on the orange sections. Her knees were weak below her as she looked up to see the large man hovering above her, his attached wings keeping him in the air. She scowled, shooting a web and watching as it wrapped around its ankle.

"You son of a bitch." She muttered under breath, swinging up and landing on the vultures back. As the villain began to panic and attempt to swing her off, she pressed her palms against his back.

The feathers began to burn, smoke emitting from the man as the toxin seeped into him. He let out a screech as they remained in the air above the crowd below, by passers watching intently.

They began to sway as he tries to fling her off, then drop drastically as he swoops down. The sudden change in elevation makes the hero lose her footing, slipping from the Vulture as he took the chance to flip upside down.

She fell to the floor again, skidding across the concrete. She winced as she felt more pain, her suit tearing. She groaned and rolled on her back, scanning the air above her.

The sound of large wings catches her attention and she looks to her right as she quickly gets to her feet, running towards him.

Jade quickly darts closer, pain shooting up her legs as her feet make contact with the concrete, getting worse with each step. She picks up speed with desperation, anger bubbling in her chest as the Vulture swoops down yet again.

The villain's talons dig into a nearby car, piercing the metal as he flew up and threw the car in jade's direction. It soared through the air and past the girl, flipping mid air. In a panic, Jade quickly pulls pedestrians out of the way with her webs and watching as the hunk of metal hits the ground.

Once the car lands, it skids to a stop across the concrete, the sound echoing through the city air as the top crumples and the windows shatter.

As it stops, Jade suddenly realizes the car wasn't empty. She looked closer, realizing just whose car it was. Her eyes widen and her heart sinks to her stomach as she quickly runs over, double checking the license plate and confirming her suspicion.

Behind the mask tears form in the corner of her eyes as she quickly gets on the bottom of the car, placing her palms on the metal and watching as it slowly melts away and leaving a hole in its wake.

"No, no, no..." she mutters quietly. Her eyes scan the car, landing on her mother, then her father, shifting to her sister and then to Peter Parker, her best friend.

Tears well in her eyes.

Her family and Peter had been in this car for her- on their way to meet her at the airport, for they were about to go on vacation and get away for a bit, taking Peter, along. She'd undoubtedly be late, but she didn't bother to tell her family, figuring that she'd just blame it on the traffic.
