MIGUEL O'HARA - Chapter Two

THE MAN — on the Vulture's back had appeared so suddenly. Jade didn't have much time to observe or to take in what had happened, watching in awe as the man threw the villain off his corse.

The two swayed in the air, people down below watching and pointing from the streets. The screams that once echoed through the air was now replaced with gasps and murmurs, the civilians just as shocked as Jade was.

But as the man on The Vulture's back turned to her, his mask rising in a way to signal he was asking for help, she snapped back to reality.

As the world around her seemingly comes back into focus, she pushes off the glass, shooting a web at the claws of the villain. The black web wraps around his ankles, immediately burning into the metal. A sizzle echos through the air, reaching Jade's ears as she swung below the large bird.

She swings up and over the Vulture, landing on his back beside the unfamiliar man just in time for the solid metal feet of the bird to fall to the floor.

The stranger seems shocked when she lands, being caught off guards and sitting straighter to make room for her. The eyes on his suit narrow as she moves closer. "You mind moving?" She asked, narrowing her own eyes.

The man's eyes widen at the sound of her voice, but it goes unnoticed by Jade as she turns away, placing her palms on the metal wings of the Villain. The stranger behind her gives her more room as smoke emerges from her palms, the toxin seeping into the metal. Slowly, the metal begins melting through just as her webs had on the Vultures ankles.

Her palms begin to burn, the metal growing hot and heating her hands through her suit, but she stays persistent, pushing her palms closer to his wings.

Eventually the hole in the metal grows large enough and the wings suddenly break off, falling to the ground toward the ground below.

The screams begin to echo again as pedestrians run from out below, getting out of the way of the wings that crash into the concrete. The vulture follows close behind the wings, Jade and the man still on top.

Acting fast, the stranger behind her shoots a web to the closest building, grabbing a hold of Jade by the arm and holding onto her as they each watch the Villain fall to the ground.

In a last minute decision, Jade shoots her own webs and wraps up the falling bird, making sure any chance of escaping would be ruled out. Once the bird hits the ground, the man that held her directs Jade to the wall, waiting until her feet and free hand stick to the glass before letting her go.

Slowly, they both made their way to the top of the building they'd been stuck to, Jade taking their mask off as she reached the top.

Jade takes in a breath of air, peering down at the road below as people began to circle the wingless Vulture. He squirmed where he laid, trying his best to break free of the webs but made no progress, the audience slowly growing.

"It is you." Jade heard, needing to strain her ears to hear the mumbled voice of the man.

The girl backs from the edge of the building, turning slowly. It was the first thing she'd heard from the Strangers mouth, and the last thing she expected. Her eyebrows furrowed, eyes narrowing in confusion.

"Jade, what were you thinking! That laser could've gotten you killed!" The man shouts, walking closer. As he slowly made his way forward, Jade realizes he was much larger than she expected. His wide shoulders and tall build making him intimidating as he raised his voice.
