14. Best daughters ever

a few days go by and i can't stop thinking about char. i miss her so much. i get out of bed n go downstairs to make myself some breakfast and a coffee, using everything char has in her coffee because it reminds me of her. i pick up my phone off the kitchen counter and message her.
"𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐱𝐱"
about half an hour goes by and no reply. my first thought was that she's still asleep but it's 6:00am she's normally awake for 5:30 for work. the overthinking started getting too me. i got worried and felt like sobbing. another half an hour goes by and i get a notification.
"𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐱𝐱"
my worries instantly went away. i had a big smile on my face whilst typing back.

i put my phone down back on the kitchen counter and go upstairs too have a shower when i suddenly hear a knock on the door. i walk to the door and opened it...i was in instant shock.
"𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞?."
"𝐧𝐨 𝐢𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐞?"
"𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭, 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞"
he looks at me with a glare in his eyes, i want to smack him, but he seems drunk. i can smell the alcohol on his breath when he talks. he got closer and i got more scared. he wrapped his hand around my neck and pushing me onto the floor.
"𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐤𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞?" i say shakingly.
"𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐈𝐦 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭."
he walks out my house leaving me on the floor shaken up. i want to tell char but i cant. i just feel like i cant. but its her ex husband for gods sake. but i cant. i'm more scared he's gonna hurt char and not me.
a few hours go by and im feeling better. i realise its nearly 6:30 so i quickly grab my car keys and drive to the nursery to pick up charlotte. the girls were with there grandma apparently. after i picked her up i drove us to charlottes mums house to pick up the girls, we go through the door and chars daughters imediatly run to her. they look at me after hugging char with confusion.
"𝐦𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧" she says.
"𝐨𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬-"
"𝐢𝐦 𝐦𝐢𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬?"
They look at me looking quite scared
"𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐦 𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦 𝐚... 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐬" charlotte looks at me raising her eyebrow. I look back with a teasing look on my face.
"𝐢𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲" the older daughter said.
"𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭"
"𝐢𝐦..𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞" the younger daughter said.

Char says as we walk out the door. She suddenly looks at me when we get in the car.

We drive home and charlotte sits the two girls down on the couch.

"𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲" the two girls quietly said.

"𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝?" the two girls softly said.
"𝐲𝐞𝐬. 𝐌𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐬𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝!"
The two girls look at us both with excitment.
"𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐦𝐬?" hailey said.
"𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐡"
"𝐘𝐀𝐘𝐘𝐘!!!" sophie shouted.
"𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲?" i ask.
"𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐡!" all three shouted.
"𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐚?"
They all nodded there head with excitement. Whilst waiting for the pizza, all 4 of us were juet snuggled up on the couch watching tv.
"𝐢 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭"
"𝐢 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐚" char softly said.
Ive barley even met hailey and sophie but i can tell they are the best daughters ever.
