That evening, the English army made their way out of the battle field, on their horses. They were making their way to a nearby castle, to speak with King Charles of France.

Colette sat on a horse, Hal behind her. She had told him she wanted to ride this time. When she was younger, she always rode horses. She always felt a connection to them, and so when she was with them, it was like a break from life. Hal sat behind her, his arms around his waist protectively. They stared at some nearby French as they rode by them.

Once they had arrived to the castle, Colette's eyes narrowed, making Hal look towards her "What is it?" He asked her.

"I feel as though I've been here before" she muttered, before shaking her head, knowing she surely hadn't been, as Hal placed a hand protectively on her back, glaring at the guards as they passed them.

They continued to walk, until they turned a corner, seeing the French king sitting down waiting for them.

A guard announced them as they entered, and the king stood, saying "Your majesty, please sit with us" he said.

Colette and Hal sat in the two seats, that were placed there for them.

Colette looked at the man, her brows furring, she recognised his face immediately, but how? He was the king, and surely she would remember meeting a king.

The man then went on to speak about the sun, saying he liked it on his skin, but not too much.

Hal stared back coldly, clearly not sitting here with him so they could talk about sunlight, and the king picked up on this, and stopped his blabbering.

"I have of course, traveled here to offer you my surrender." The king said.

"Do you ask anything of me in return?" Hal questioned, having a feeling he would.

" I have for you a proposition, you take, the hand of my daughter, Catherine....in marriage" The king said, and they all turned to look towards the blonde haired girl in the right corner of the room.

Hal looked back towards the man "I'm afraid I cannot. You see there is all ready a queen of England, and soon to be France, and she sits before me" Hal said looking only at Colette, who smiled back at him.

"Ah....you two are, married" The man spoke, looking at the girl only now, his eyes widening "And who may you be?" He asked, recognising her.

"Colette Davenport, we'll Colette Monmouth now, your majesty" she said.

"Davenport?" He mumbled, coming to a realisation. She nodded confusingly. "You do not happen to have memories of coming to France, when you were just a girl?" He mumbled.

"Yes" she muttered back, her eyes widening, he was the man she had seen many times all those years ago , but why were her parents visiting the king of France.

"Oh my....." the king trailed off.

"Why were my parents visiting you?" She questioned.

The king said nothing for a moment before smiling softly "I wanted to see my daughter" he told her.

For a minute she didn't understand his words, but then she did, freezing "That can not be true" she said her eyes wide.

"I admit, it was cruel to send my daughter over seas, but we believed you would get proper care in England. We had many children, you were the younger twin, we thought it best for you to get proper care and love, knowing we could not give that to you." The king explained.
