The false army marched up, John leading them, full of armour and weapons. This led the French like troopers to walk up a little too.Hal signalled the archers to fire, they did. They killed or injured nearly half of them.
Eventually, they met in the middle, the fighting began. It was brutal, absolutely brutal. Men were getting stabbed or choked everywhere you could look.
Some men were just squished by borers or trampled. They mud making them fall, slipping and sliding on top of each other.
John swung left and right, trying to kill whoever he could, trying his best not to get trampled or stabbed in the meantime.
Eventually Hal signalled they rest of them to run out and join the battle, when more French troops had made their way to them.
Hal slaughtered anyone he could. He didn't find it as hard to stay upright, having no armour or horses to make him falter. John had been right, they slipped not nearly as much as the French. If he were not at war as of now, he'd smile.
He fell, right down onto the mud, a French troop on top of him. He wanted to give up, he was so tired. But no, he couldn't, he had made a promise to Colette and decided he would keep it. So he fought back, even stabbing the man. His head piece fell off, re his brown curls, muck all over his fair face.
He stared, hearing horns go off. He looked up to see the Dauphin getting off his horse. Everyone stopped fighting, they all simply watched instead.
He got off, his armour making him almost unrecognisable. He lifted his face piece up." Come then....king of England." He said, moving his sword around, trying to show off.
Hal stared at the man, before sighing, looking for a weapon, and seeing a sword on the ground, he picked it up, readying for the battle.
However, once the Dauphin began to run at Hal, he slipped in the mud, due to his heavy metal amour. When he tried to get up again, he continued to slip.
Hal just stared at him, before signalling his men to finish him off, and they did, around five of them yelling at him, killing him, viscously.
Hal spared the man not one more glance, as he turned, knowing he had won, England had won.
He made a bee line to the tent he knew Colette was waiting for him in. Walking into it, he saw her on her hands and knees, a rosary in her hand, as she prayed her her husbands safety.
"Lottie" he whispered, walking over to her. She turned to look at him, her eyes widening, as a loud gasp left her mouth.
She ran over to him, wrapping her arms around him tightly, as if her life depended on it.
"Oh my word! I was so worried!" She whimpered as tears left her eyes.
Hal rested his head upon her own, his breaths still fast as he tried to control it, all the fighting making him tired.
"All is well, the Dauphin is dead" Hal explained to her as he pulled away, only to place his hand on her stomach, smiling to himself.
"Hal I was so scared, I was so worried about what may have occurred! I was worried that I would be raising our child without you" She whispered as he wiped her tears.
"Never" he nodded his head no, hugging her once more.
She smiled at him, before pulling away, a frown replacing it. "Where's John?" She questioned.
Hal said nothing, looking up. He hadn't seen him to think of it. He gulped, praying his friend was ok.
"I'm not sure" he told her honestly.
She swallowed before grappling his hand, running out into the mud with him. "Lottie! Be careful, it's sloppy" he told her.
She kept running around all the dead bodies, nausea beginning to form as she saw many dead, brutally.
She stopped in her tracks, seeing a familiar face"Hal! Over here" she yelled.
She leaned down to John, his eyes were closed, but when she listened closely, she heard breathing. He was alive.
Once Hal had reached her, he ordered two nearby soldiers to help bring him back to the tent.
Once they arrived, Colette quickly removed his armour, and his top, seeing he had been stabbed on his side.
She gulped, quickly getting to work, first she got alcohol, pouring some over the large wound. He jumped, now awake from the sensation.
He looked around as he breathed in deeply "Sit down!" She ordered with a stern face.
He did what he was told but looked at his side, seeing a large wound, he cried out "I don't want to die!" He cried.
Colette rolled her eyes. "you aren't going to die, I've had to mend much worse wounds when it comes to you" she said.
"Oh" he said laying his head back down. Truthfully, he didn't really know what had happened to him, so when he woke, he was just in shock by it all.
"Who won?" He asked frantically.
Colette looked over her shoulder to where hal was leant against a wooden pole "We did" she said smiling to her husband, who smiled back.
John said nothing for a moment, not fully taking in her words. But then he did, and he let out loud laughs of happiness, which ultimately turned to groans, when he laughed to hard, the pain replacing his laughter.
"Hush" She told him sternly.
After a moment of silence, Colette finished cleaning his wounds, and wrapped a large piece of cloth around his stomach.
"Colette?" John asked her.
She bummed, staring down at the cloth she was wrapping around him.
"You were right, I....do, sort of, a small bit, fancy that hopper one" He said, not meeting her eyes in embarrassment.
She paused, smiling to herself "I know, I'm always right" she said.
Hal walked over, helping her stand, then wrapping his arms around her, holding her tightly to him.
"John there is something we must tell you" Colette said nervously.
"What?" He asked looking at their faces.
"I am with child" Colette said her hand on her stomach, which still had no bump yet.
"You what?" John whispered, before a huge smile broke out on his face, yelling out in happiness, making the young royals laugh at him.
"My word John at this rate you'll injure yourself more form laughing." Colette said making Hal smile.

The three made their way outside, Colette holding her husbands hand once more, and John who had insisted he was fine, following close behind them.
When they walked past all the remaining soldiers, they bowed at their king and Queen
One man came over to Hal, who's mood had gone sour, seeing many of his men dead, on the ground.
"My liege, they prisoners we have took are a rabble. I fear we will not secure them should their army regroup" the man told him.
Hal looked down at Colette, thinking of how any of those French soldiers could have killed her, if they had their way.
Upon that realisation, he said "Kill them all"
