The short makeout with Dabi proved to be beneficial to her in the end. It put a strain between the two guys but to her delight, it made Hawks stay by her side more. She's probably a damsel in distress that he thinks he should protect. And she feels so good playing that part.
They exchanged numbers and he would call her every now and then. Conversations with Hawks were easy. The guy is too talkative and can blab about anything random for hours. She would giggle, act flushed, and even tease him back just to keep his attention on her. She soon learned to praise his ego. He is just a man after all. And all men have the same weakness if she knows where and how to hit it.
She recalls the one afternoon they spent together with Twice. Hawks was standing in front of them beside a blackboard as he explained the liberation ideologies to him. Hikari was sitting in the back, her body curled up on the couch as she pretended to sleep.
"The world I once dreamed of was a birdcage that kept me restricted. I wanted to fly freely. That wasn't where I belonged." She heard him tell Twice. She couldn't read any emotions in his voice. She couldn't tell if he was lying or not.
Hikari wanted to scoff. He knew what he was getting into when the commission recruited him. When they were young, he would tell her quietly his dreams of becoming a hero that can save the ones in need of help. That's why he's in their villa right now, pretending to be their ally. That wasn't where he belonged? Bullshit. He really knows how to use words to wrap people around his fingers.
Twice, that fool. She tried to catch their attention by waking up with a loud groan but he had already run his mouth to the hero. "Because he's getting stronger. In the mountains in Kyoto, over four months. Off the record, of course."
He just revealed Shigaraki's secret to the one guy that shouldn't be informed about it. She wasn't able to stop him and when Hawks looked at her to check her reaction, she immediately smiled at him.
She stood up and stretched her arms. "This waiting will be worth it, Hawks." She added, convincing him she has faith on him.
Twice beamed at them. "Let's fly where we want together!"
Hikari smiled wider. She moved closer to Hawks, purposely letting her fingers graze over his. "Yes, let's fly towards our liberation." She said softly while looking at his brown eyes.

She doesn't know how long they have before Hawks drops his act. He already had an idea about Shigaraki's whereabouts. It's only a matter of time before he gets them all. And when Re-Destro announced their next grand meeting, the serious look on Hawk's face made her smile secretly.
Hikari knows she should tell the Liberation Front about it. She owes it to Re-Destro for giving her a chance to live despite how broken she was. But she couldn't. Oh, how she can't help but crave the delight of thinking of all the ways she can screw Hawks up by playing along with him. What would his face look like when she finally reveals who she is to him?
Her life has been meaningless all these years but now that Keigo is so close to her, he is the only one she could think about. Whatever happens to the Liberation Front after this doesn't matter to her. She's only yearning for one thing now and she's so close in grasping it in her hands.
Hawks had been taking her with him for flying above the clouds for a few times now. For the third time, she brought a bucket of fried chicken with her which they shared together on the villa's rooftop. Now they are sitting in there again, a pair of fresh soda and freshly fried chicken between them.
Hikari took a small piece of the chicken and handed it to Hawks. Instead of accepting it with his hand, he opted to bite it from her hand with his mouth, a mischievous smile on his lips.
