Chapter 31: Academia Accomplished

"Zoroark is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! Which means the victory goes to World Monarch Ash!" Lillie declared.

Everyone was in utter silence. Everyone supporting Jaydin were wide eyed with their mouths open. Reeka was covering her mouth with her hands as her eyes shook.

Jaydin's Pokemon were in absolute shock. They couldn't even process what had just happened.

Upon impulse, Jaydin immediately ran towards Zoroark to check on her.

"Zoroark!" Jaydin cried out as he reached her.

He bent down and held her up in his arms. He saw her right arm and legs were pretty banged up compared to the rest of her body, presumably the result of her and Pikachu's final clash. Her face looked relaxed as she remained unconscious.

Jaydin grunted and gritted his teeth as he hid his eyes. Tears slowly started to fall down his face.

"Zoroark...I'm sorry...I failed you...I failed us...I'm so sorry...!" He said as he held her while his tears kept falling.

All of Jaydin's other Pokemon rushed over to check on her. They all hugged Jaydin as they cried together.

Ash and Pikachu watched with sympathetic expressions. They both couldn't help but see themselves back when they lost important league battles. Ash picked up Pikachu, who secured his spot on Ash's shoulder.

Reeka and her Pikachu rushed towards Jaydin upon breaking free from their shock. Jaydin's Pokemon got out of the way to let Reeka embrace Jaydin. The latter let her hold him as they both cried.

Serena rejoined Ash and shared his sympathetic look. Lillie and Snowy had a look of sadness on their faces. It hurt Lillie immensely to say those words, having to take all her willpower not to grow emotional.

Almost all the students were sad to see Jaydin lose. Some even teared up. Kukui, Burnet and Lei were sad as well, the latter being the closest to shedding a few tears.

Jaydin and Reeka didn't say anything, the latter holding Jaydin tightly. Her eyes were also hidden as her lips winced.

Before anyone could do anything, laughing suddenly erupted and was growing louder. Everyone minus Jaydin's group turned to see Damian walking up to the couple.

"I KNEW you didn't have what it takes to beat the World Monarch! You were so pathetic, trembling and scared shitless, I'm surprised you even lasted more than 2 seconds! You are the most pathetic trainer I've ever seen! I wish I had recorded you losing, then the whole world would see just how weak you are! And now look at you, crying like a little baby cause you didn't have what it took to be a good trainer! You're a disgrace, so go cry back to mommy and daddy, oh wait, you don't have them! I bet they're turning in their graves right now!" Damian mocked while pointed at Jaydin.

Everyone was beyond shocked by that last bit. This turned into extreme anger.

Before he could continue, he was grabbed by Kukui, who now forcefully dragged him away. Damian was about to protest but Kukui glared at him.

"Say one more word and I'll kick you out of this Academy myself" he said coldly.

Everyone else gave him death glares as he was hauled away.

"What is wrong with that brat?" Serena asked with an angry look.

Lillie sighed. "Honestly I'm at a loss for words. But either way, he's done."

Ash and Pikachu walked up to Jaydin's group. He saw that Jaydin had a new look of sorrow on his face. Reeka held him even tighter as she whispered something in his ear, making Jaydin shake his head in response, which made Reeka gently take off his hat and run her fingers through his hair.
