Past Life (Alt. Version)

Chapter 2:

She hit the cell floor, a loud thud echoing against the metal walls. The slight pain was quickly numbed by the cold. Marisol was too cold to move from off the floor.

Before they arrived to this castle, he was kind and sweet to her but it was short lived as he threw her into the cellar prison. She wanted to know why but every time she tried to speak, her teeth chattered. She curled herself up and felt her body shake from the vigorous shivers running down her body.

"W-why is it so cold?" She mumbled with her teeth clattering at every word.

He glared down at her. She watched as his eyes scanned her body and his gaze softening. She couldn't tell if it was from sympathy or lust. Honestly, she could care less because all she really wanted right now was to be warm.

"Aqua..." She panted out, reaching a trembling hand out to him.

"You'll stay here for a while. I will bring you a blanket if you wish." Aqua ignored the hand she offered up to him. His gaze went to her shoulder, where she was desperately trying to hid the black circle outline from him. She quickly noticed and gripped her shoulder tightly, pulling her torn shirt up.

"Are you hurt?" He stepped forward, right at the cell door. "No." Marisol pushed herself backwards, gripping her shoulder as tightly as she could, to the point where it actually hurt.

"Let me see." He opened the cell door and closed it behind him. "No, I'm okay." Marisol had pressed herself against the wall. The tiny cell left her no room for escape.

Aqua's hand shot towards her, ripping her hand away along with the chunk of fabric that hid the marking. He froze. The black circle outline was the last thing he expected to see and the last thing he wanted to see. He used his free hand to unbutton his shirt and he looked down at his shoulder.

They both gulped. Resting on his shoulder was the exact same marking.

"Oh god..." Aqua muttered, releasing her wrist.

Marisol tried to hid it. She knew he didn't want this to happen but her hiding skills obviously lacked. She stared at the marking on his shoulder and reached for it. She had to know if it the marking bounding him to her.

Her finger grazed the skin, circling it. Aqua's faced went red and he growled angrily.

"Off, now."

She snatched hand away and pressed herself farther against the wall. "So it's true. You're-."

Aqua threw himself at her, pressing himself onto her. "My soul mate. I never thought the prophet would end up mine." He gave her a look of fury that sent shivers spiraling down her spine. He leaned in, attempting to kiss her. Without a second thought, she slammed her fist into his face at full force and was followed by cracking sounds that were either her knuckles or his nose.

"What the hell?!" He gripped his nose that was bright red but no blood or looks of deformity. It was her fingers that broke and she could feel the pain as she cradled her hand.

"Don't touch me like that. I don't know you." Marisol hissed at him.

"You look like a cornered animal." He laughed "Trying so hard to be strong yet fear so evident in your eyes."

Marisol kept eye contact with him; her hand feeling around for her crystal heart.

"Oh, are you looking for this?" He grinned, flashing her crystal into view. Marisol's eye went wide.

"When did you-?"

"You don't think I would actually kiss you, do you?"

Marisol gave him a scowl. She knew he was lying because she rejected her advances. But she needed her crystal back.

"Look you hard ass, you better give that back!"

"No." Aqua gave her short reply, still dangling the crystal from its pearl string. Marisol hesitated, this is going to be hard. She stood up and walked right up to him, grabbing his wrist. " Then I'll take it back!" She forced herself to produce ice that began to spread up his arm.

"You piece of-!" Aqua yelped and shoved her away, stepping back as the ice continue to spread.

"Make it stop!" He tossed her crystal aside and made a ball of fire, melting the ice. She bolted towards the crystal, snatching it up and making for the cell door.

Before she was able to reach for the handle, he snagged her wrist and pulled her back. "You're a quick learner, unfortunately you need to faster to get away from me." Marisol winced at his crushing grip and tried to pry herself away but realized very quickly her fingers were still broken. She cried out in pain and pulled her hand away.

"Your fingers are broken?" he released her wrist and oddly enough, gently grabbed her injured hand. "My body is stronger than yours so your fingers broke instead of my nose." He traced his thumb lightly over her fingers and she cringed again.

"This may hurt." He brought her hand to his face and gave gentle kisses onto her fingers. "How is this supposed to hurt?" She asked, and her answer came shortly after. She could feel her bones fixing themselves all at once.

Marisol screamed in pain, leaning backwards. "Aqua!! Stop!!" She sobbed, trying to cover her mouth. He ignored her cries and carried on. Her screams were muffled behind her hand with tears running down her face. Her fingers were close to healing but she simply couldn't handle the pain. With a snap, her bones were back together and in perfect place. Marisol panted, slowly moving her hand from her mouth.

"This process must be more painful for you. But human bones require time to heal and we don't have time." He rubbed her fingers. They weren't broken but sore from the process. Marisol's breathing started to go back to normal

"Do you do this often?" She watched him massage her hand, slightly uncomfortable at his doing so. Being touched wasn't something she enjoyed, especially by strangers.

"No, I've actual never done. I only knew how to do it." He moved next to her, forcing her to lean against him.

"My crystal."

"What?"

"I want it back." Marisol grabbed it and pulled it away from him. He chuckled, shaking his head. His smile seemed off, like he was not used to doing it.

"Rest." He stood back up and left her alone in her cell.

Or at least she thought. The walls of her cell disappeared and replaced by metals bars. "Oh my god..." The lights in the cells next to her turned on and she saw students from her school unconscious on the ground. Only a few were awake and staring at her.

"Marisol..."

She looked to her left and in the cell next to her were her friends.

"Shireen?" Marisol stood up and ran to the bars. "Oh my gosh, what are you doing here??"

"I-I don't know. You left with that guy and those vine things started to grab us randomly!"

Marisol paused. This was Aqua's end of the deal. Humans.
