Chapter 7

I snuck back down the prison cells where they were keeping the students with my team. Trust me when I say sneaking around with twelve people was the actual struggle. But we made it down and were breaking the doors of the cells down and freeing the students.

"Usagi, find a place for them to hide until we can get them back to Earth. Mitsuru, I need you to head back to paradise and look for a way back to Earth." I sent them off before turning to the rest of my team.

"Okay, split the kids off into grounds and ready them to be moved! Helena, I need you to head back up stairs and watch for any guards! Take any out that try to come our way!"

Helena nodded and ran off.

"Alright go!"

Everyone gave me a quick nod and got right to work.

I glanced up the stairwell, hearing an argument. I moved closer before Helena was sent tumbling down the stairs. I caught him before she hit the ground. "Oh my god, are you okay?!"

"Uh huh! But I think your boyfriend isn't happy..." he spat blood, and stood up with my help. I looked up and there stood Aqua with his wings flared and muscles tight.

"What the hell are you doing?!?" He roared, shaking everything. I gave a soft whimper and gripped my crystal.

"Princess, I found a place-."

"Move them out! NOW!" I screamed, creating a force field. For a moment, Aqua gave a look of shock as he realized what was happening. "Marisol, no!!" He slammed against the force field, clawing at it.

"My people need this energy! You can't take them!!"

"Aqua, my job is to protect my people from harm! Taking their energy kills them! I can't let you do that." I sobbed, I knew he needed the energy. Doing this would give him no choice but to use me. To abuse my immortality and unlimited power but that meant hurting me and putting me through unimaginable pain.

"Please no!!" He growled, pounding at the force field. I glanced back; almost all the students were out.

"No, I know my job. I will take their place."

His eyes went wide and he fell to his knees, his wings retracting back. "Marisol, no... I won't let you-."

"My body can handle it better than them. Aqua, they will die from it and I can't let that happen. I know you need the power for your people. I will give you it." I went down on my knees, my voice soft and low.

His muscle tightened, balling his fist up tightly against the force field.

"Princess. They're out." Xeraphina called out. I looked back at her and gave a weak smile.

"Now take the rest of the team and join the students."

"What?! Are you telling me to leave you because I will not-!" Xeraphina snapped back, dismay in her expression.

"Xeraphina!" I yelled and she stopped, along with the rest of my team.

"Find a way to get the students back home, okay? Come back to me..."

She hesitated but nodded and leapt out the window. The others stared at me and saw my jaw clench as I readied to yell. The quickly followed after her, leaving Aqua and I alone. After a few minutes, I lowered my force field completely and plopped down to the ground.

I reached out for Aqua and ran my hand through his hair. He slowly raised his hand and grabbed mine, bringing it to his lips. A soft kiss he left on the back of my hand before he placed it against his heart.
