Hello lovelies

The next morning dawned overcast, mirroring the sense of uncertainty that clouded my mind. Clara had already left for work, leaving behind a cup of coffee . I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of our growing mystery pressing on my shoulders. Today, I needed to stay focused and vigilant.

At the library, I moved through my tasks methodically as usual, my thoughts preoccupied with the events of the previous day. Ms. Rossi's unusual project, the mysterious visitor, Clara's revelation-it all felt like pieces of a puzzle that were slowly coming together. But what was the picture they formed?

Around mid-morning, Ms. Rossi appeared again, her usual composed demeanor slightly strained.

What does she wants from me? Can't she let me live in peace...ugghh

"Amber," she called, her voice sweet "Can I see you in my office."

how can a person fake this much??

My heart pounded as I walked to her office, trying to maintain a calm exterior.

She was seated behind her desk, a large book open in front of her. She looked up as I entered, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Amber, I need you to assist me with this book. It's a rare volume, and I want to ensure it's handled properly."

I nodded, stepping closer to the desk. "Of course, Ms. Rossi. What do you need me to do?"

I asked faking a smile too.

She gestured to the book. "I need you to catalog its contents meticulously."

It was like a normal and usual work I do everyday. I forced a calm expression and nodded. "I understand. I'll start right away."

Around lunchtime, Max arrived today again.

Such an angel.. he is trying hard to help me in every way!

He settled into the reading area, blending in with the other patrons. I finished my current task and joined him, our routine providing a brief respite from the tension.

"Anything new, beautiful?" Max asked in a low voice but his voice carried cheerfulness that helped me calm my muscles.

I shook my head. "No, everything is normal today, nothing suspicious happened"

He nodded

Late in the afternoon, the mysterious visitor returned. He made his way to Ms. Rossi's office, and I exchanged a glance with Max. This was our chance to learn more.

Max moved closer to the office, positioning himself to overhear their conversation. I pretended to be engrossed in my computer, my ears straining to catch any snippets of their discussion as Ms. Rossi's office was not soundproof and also very close from my work desk.

The man's voice was low and urgent. "We don't have much time. The signs are aligning, we need to keep a thorough watch on them and the prophecy is nearing fulfillment. The higher ups are commanding to be more alerted"

Ms. Rossi's response was inaudible, but her tone was serious. I caught a few more fragmented phrases-"preparations," "ritual," "safeguard." My heart raced. They were talking about the prophecy. But what did it mean?

Max rejoined me, his expression grave. "They're definitely planning something. We need to figure out what it is and how to stop it."

I nodded, feeling a mix of fear and determination. "We'll need Clara's help. She might know more about this they're talking about."

As the library closed for the day, I gathered my things, my mind buzzing with questions. Back at the apartment, Clara was waiting, her expression tense.
