Silence engulfed the room, her heart was beating in her ears in sync with her fast-paced breathing. Tears were streaming down her face and onto her purple pyjamas uncontrollably.

She stared into the wide space before her, scared to notice something or someone that shouldn't be there. She wanted to close her eyes but she couldn't. Her body wouldn't let her.

"Mum?" She yelled out, though it came out more like a whimper.

"Mum!" She yelled again, this time loud enough for her mum to hear her from the room beside hers. She waited a couple of seconds, her ears perking to hear the slightest sound in the distance.

To her luck, she soon heard steps walking towards her bedroom, the door opening shortly after. Warm light shone into the room immediately, casting onto the terrified girl.

"What is it, baby?" The soothing voice of her mother bounced off the walls as she walked towards her daughter, crawling onto the bed. Her calming and familiar scent almost instantly enveloped the girl, already making her feel much better. "Was it another nightmare?"

Too scared to speak, the girl nodded and hummed, her voice wavering, feeling the comforting presence in the space next to her.

"Aw, sweetie," her mum muttered, not wasting another second before wrapping her arms around her daughter and pulling and pulling her into her warm chest. Only then did she let go and started sobbing into her mother's chest.

"It'll be okay, Jiwon, I promise. It'll all be okay."

Jiwon was sitting in class, zoning out while reminiscing the bitter memories from her childhood. Memories she had tried hard to forget and suppress but as they watched the movie during the lecture, that they later would have to analyse, Jiwon was almost forced back to her childhood.

Watching the mother calming her daughter with soothing words and a gentle voice, nearly brought tears to her eyes, yet she quickly blinked them back and put her focus back onto the film.

A few hours later, Jiwon and Areum were walking out of the uni alone. It was the afternoon and both Seonhee and Hyunwoo had finished a long time ago.

Now they were walking to the cafe where Areum worked, their arms linked together as they held a light-hearted conversation. The afternoon sun was bright and casted a warmth to both of the girls' faces.

"I'm just saying," Jiwon began, "Flynn Rider is the best Disney prince. Like take that Eric dude, he has the personality of a dry ass biscuit that's been sitting out for days."

Areum laughed, only adding a few comments every now and then while Jiwon kept ranting about how perfect the imaginary prince was.

For the next few minutes, Jiwon kept gushing about the Disney princes until she suddenly stopped and let out a deep sigh. "God, I'm ready to just pass out tonight. I'm so tired."
