Drunk Tears

To say things have been a bit weird over the last few days is an understatement. Thankfully, I've had work to busy myself in as I covered a few extra shifts which was the least I could do after my own stupid stint. I take the moment to reflect on the last few months, well since the Knights came into our lives and it kinda feels like we're the characters in some odd book plot. Most of it being amazing but then there's the couple of things that made life difficult. I feel guilty that I haven't been back to see Nina since I dropped Jordan off at hers when they had that situation. So I'm gonna surprise her and take her out.
I turn up at her place and after knocking, I let myself in to the apartment. "Hey, you ready to go out?" I call out before I even realise she's sitting on the sofa. "Hi! Where are we going?" I smirk at her. "You'll find out when we get there." She rolls her eyes at me. Cheeky cow. "Don't call me a cheeky cow, you sod!" She laughs. We still have that telepathic thingy going on, I see. I raise my brow teasing her recognising Jordan's traits in her.

"Oh my god, we haven't been here in forever!! Feeling lucky Phee?" I laugh

"Oh my god, we haven't been here in forever!! Feeling lucky Phee?" I laugh. "You were always my good luck charm and thought it'd be cool to do something we haven't done in a long time." She hugs me as she climbs into her wheelchair.
Twenty minutes later and we're finally settled in our little booth. "What was the hug for?" I ask her. She goes all coy on me. "It's just so nice to do something that we used to do. Hopefully playing bingo will take my mind off everything." I smile softly at her. "I'm always here for you, Nina. I still don't really know what happened exactly and if you want to talk about it then I'm here." - "thank you. That means a lot to me. I feel like I'm just playing catch up with life. That probably sounds stupid." I look at her with concern etched in my heart. She's done nothing wrong from what I've heard but she seems to take the weight on her shoulders. "Do you want to tell me what went on? I only know bits and pieces that Jon has told me. He didn't think it was his place to tell me in great detail and I haven't seen Jordan since I dropped him off at your place." She sighs. "Some of Jordan's fans weren't very nice about me and think that he's better off without me. While me and Jordan talked things through. I still fret that I'm bringing him down. I don't want him to lose his fans because of me. It's shaken my self esteem." I watch as she juts out her bottom lip anxiously. I can tell it's knocked her confidence. I need to find out what Jordan is doing to help her with this because I've spent years trying to boost her self esteem and confidence in herself and for it to come down to people who don't matter, that's absolutely ridiculous. In the meantime, I'm gonna do my damn best to make her laugh, and forget about what's happened.
"Oh my god, I've forgotten how fast they go!!" Nina giggles while the staff are busy checking someone's bingo cards. "My hand is hurting, feels like it's had a workout and we haven't even gotten half way." She says innocently not realising how dirty her words sound. I snicker quietly but she hears me. "What?!" Just as I'm about to respond, the bingo caller announces for the next game to begin. When I observe her twisting her wrist and wriggling her slender fingers, I chuckle to myself. I finally get a chance to tell her what I was laughing about. "That's different Phoenix!! Don't forget I don't have the muscle and practice like you guys have." I burst out laughing but soon shut up when I notice people around us glaring daggers at me. I hold my hands up as I try to show that I'm sorry for those around us. "You're not really sorry, dickwad." She whispers. She knows me so damn well. There's a reason she's my best friend and has been for all of this time.
