I pull out my gun. I shoot a closer zombie in the head. It falls. I make a run for the car. I shoot zombies as I run by. I can see the car. Three people are inside of it. They drive away.
I didn't even leave the car unlocked. I look behind me. The zombies aren't that far back. I need to go. I run into the woods. I jump over a fallen tree. I'm running as fast as I can. I slow down after a while to a light jog.

I pull out my map. There is a hiking trail that leads to a road which passes through the town. I continue on the trail. I stare directly at the map to make sure I'm going the right way. I hear a twig snap in front of me. I look up to see a wolf growling at me. I slowly step back. I look at it's eyes. Its pupils are dilated.
At that safe house that guy, Daniel, told us animals can get infected. The wolf stares at me. It has a bite mark on it's front right leg. It leans back, ready to jump on me. I sprint to a nearby tree. I start climbing it. The wolf bites my left foot. It pulls on it. I kick it in the face with my right foot. It opens its mouth.
I pull myself up onto a tree branch. I check my foot. The wolf's teeth didn't get past the shoe. Looks like I have to wait up here until it loses interest...that could be awhile. The wolf barks and howls at me. It scratches at the tree bark like a cat.

It starts raining. I can see the sun starting to set. This wolf better lose interest fast. I don't like being outside at night. Zombies like to sleep in the trees at night. A few hours pass. I look down. The wolf is lying on the ground. Now's my chance! I climb down to the last branch on the tree. I hang off of it. I jump down. The wolf springs up, ready to attack. I run. The wolf is following me. I make it to the road. I can see the town. The wolf jumps on me. I'm on the ground. The wolf has it's mouth right in front of me. It emits a low growl.
I hear someone whistle. The wolf steps back and sits down. I crawl backwards. A man steps out of the shadows. He pets the wolf. What is going on? He reaches a hand out to help me up. He is wearing a black coat and pants. He has a scarred bite mark on his neck. I get up myself. I check his eyes. They are normal but that means next to nothing now.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"What are you doing with my wolf?" he asks.

"Your wolf attacked me, she bit my foot!" I say.

"If I didn't call her back, you'd be dead. How about a little less attitude?" he says.

Who does this guy think he is? I turn around. I start walking away.

"I can help you," the man says.

"Help? So far the only thing you've done is completely delay my return. I need to get to that town up ahead. I have kids who are waiting for me. They probably think I'm dead by now," I say.

"Kids? Look, I want to help you. That town has a evacuation base. It's stocked with the best supplies you could ever imagine," He says.

"But?" I ask.

"Zombies live right in the base. I can help you get past them," he says.

"How?" I ask.

"I'm one of them," he says.

"What?" I yell.

I pull out my gun.

"Don't freak out! I don't wish to harm you, or anybody for that matter."

"Yeah, thats exactly what a zombie would say. I don't trust you," I say.

"If I really was trying to kill you, why would I call the wolf back?" It is a good point.

"Fine, but I want you in front of me at all times. Same for the wolf," I say.
