It was dark out now.
My brothers and I were at the square for the event, which we learned from strangers that it was 'The Night of the Comet.'
Soon, Caroline came walking up to us, "Hey, there you are." She exclaims, her light blue eyes staring into mine, "Elena said that we're going to be here, and I was starting to believe that you weren't going to show up."
A light smile formed onto my lips, "Yeah, I'm here." I glanced back at my brothers, "And they decided to come along to torment me."
A puzzled look instantly came over Dean, while Sam scoffed, "Hey, you're the one who said that you enjoyed our company." Sam smiles, shoving his hands in his front pockets.
I playfully rolled my eyes, as I looked up at him, "Shut up!"
Caroline's eyes glanced between my brothers, "Well, I'm glad you decided to come." She tells him, smirking a bit. A smirk came onto Dean's face, as he nodded, "Yeah, I bet you are."
Her smirk turned into a smile, and she blushed.
I scrunched our noses up, "Gross."
Caroline's eyes glanced between the three of us, "Come on, we can go get you some candles." She then turned and started to walk off.
"Candles?" I asked, as we followed her through the courtyard.
"Yeah, candles." She nodded, as we walked up to a table that was completely full of candles, "We're lighting them for the comet." She picks up four candles from the table, and hands them to my brothers and me, "So, just walk up to someone who has their candles lit, and that's how we'll spread the fire with everyone here."
Dean rose his brows, as he looked down at his candle.
Caroline then glanced over, "Look, there's Elena, Bonnie, and..." Her brows began to furrow, "Some girl?" She quickly took off into their direction, while my brothers and I followed after her. She grabbed an extra candle off the table, and took off towards where the rest of our friends were.
"Caroline, wait!" I called out, as we chased after her.
We soon stood in front of Elena, Bonnie, and a girl that I didn't recognize. The blonde forced a smile onto her face, "Look who I found!" She exclaims, glancing over to my brothers and me.
"Hey, Emma," Elena smiles at me, her brown eyes shifted to Sam and Dean, "Hey guys, I'm so glad you could make it."
Sam gave her a light smile, as he nodded.
Caroline looked at Bonnie, "I got you a candle." She smiles, Bonnie gently takes it from her, "Thanks, Care." The blonde then looped her arm in with hers. The seven of us began walking through the courtyard, when Matt approached us, "Hey." Elena smiles.
"Hey." He smiles back. He then took his lit candle, and lit up hers.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Elena then turned and started to light my candle. After it was lit, I started to light Sam and Dean's. Elena took a few steps away from us to light someone else's candles. As I turned to light Caroline's, I heard a familiar voice.
I furrowed my brows, as I looked over to see Stefan standing there.
Bonnie's gaze turned to me, "So, any word on your dad and sister?" She asks, trying to start a conversation.
My brothers and I looked at each other, before Sam shook his head, "No, we haven't heard a word from him."
"Oh.." She mumbles, a sympathetic look then came over her, "I'm sorry to hear that. I thought he would've met up with you guys now."
