The next day, arrived and the girls got up earlier than Natsu did. Ashly and Lucia got the kids ready for the day, while Natsu was still asleep. Ashly and the kids went out with Cana to play with the kids in the orphanage. Lucia took their beast companions to Irene's house on the outskirts of the town to make sure that they didn't try to attack her and for her not to try anything funny. Lucy in the meantime lay next to Natsu, enjoying that it was only her and him for once.
Natsu: *He slowly wakes up and stretches his arms, which is surprisingly easy. He glances around and only sees Lucy in bed with him.* Good morning, Lucy. Where is everyone else?
Lucy: The kids are with Ashly and Cana, who are most likely playing in the orphanage with the other children. Lucia is with Irene and our beast friends. So, it's just you and me this time.
Natsu: *He tenderly kisses the top of her head while sitting up.* It's been a long time since it was just the two of us. Everything has changed since we embarked on our journey to see the world.
Lucy: True, we saw a lot of things on our travels, but we also met new people and learned a lot about the world. I'm surprised at how large and unique the world is; we've been traveling for a long time and I feel like we haven't seen anything yet.
Natsu: True, the world still waits for us to discover it. We've learned and experienced a lot, but there's still a lot more to see and learn. I can't wait to meet more people and experience different cultures.
Lucy: I agree; nevertheless, should we go to the guild and meet the new members? I'm curious about what kind of fresh faces we have around the guild since we left. We also owe everyone a tremendous explanation about what we've done to cause so many changes around the world.
Natsu: Yeah, I know it will be a long day, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what fresh faces we have in the guild.
Natsu and Lucy eat breakfast together and prepare for the day. They put on their slime bodysuits and walk over to the guild immediately next to their mansion. As they enter the guild, everyone gathers around them.
Mirajane: Pushing everyone aside to get to Natsu and Lucy. Okay, everyone, calm down and step out of the way. Let them in, and everyone may take turns thanking or chatting with them.
Lucy: I don't think I'll get used to how renowned we've become as a result of all our good deeds.
Mirajane: You have no clue how long these folks had longed to meet you two. They say that thanks to you two, they have been able to enjoy better lives than they ever thought possible. So they're quite excited to thank you all for whatever you've done for them in whatever way.
Natsu: We'd be pleased to hear them if they could form a line or something so that they don't overwhelm us all at once.
Mirajane: Okay, everyone who wishes to thank Natsu and Lucy, please form a line and wait patiently for your turn to talk to them. This means no pushing, arguing, or fighting while you wait.
Everyone did what Mirajane asked, and the rest of the old members simply sat down to avoid making the line snake around the guildhall.
