I feel a whirlwind of emotions about the engagement. It's a mix of excitement and nervousness, knowing that this marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The joy of sharing this moment with my loved ones is overwhelming, and I can't help but smile thinking about the future. At the same time, there's a sense of responsibility and anticipation, wondering what lies ahead. Overall, it's a beautiful blend of happiness and hope, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes us.

As I stood by the stage, watching the crowd, I saw a girl approaching with a bright smile. Kabir nudged me gently and said, "Kanika, meet Samridhi."

I smiled back at her, recalling the name. "Oh, you're Samridhi! Kabir mentioned you before."Samridhi laughed, "I hope it was all good things!"Kabir chuckled, "Well, I might have mentioned that you were Rishi's first kiss."I raised an eyebrow, feeling a mix of curiosity and amusement. "Really?"Samridhi shook her head, still smiling. "No, no, we were just teasing you. I'm actually their cousin."Relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but laugh. "You guys really had me there for a moment!" Kabir grinned, "We just wanted to see your reaction. Welcome to the family, Kanika." We all laughed together, the initial awkwardness melting away into a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The engagement ceremony was in full swing, with laughter and music filling the air. I stood near the refreshment table, adjusting my dress, when Kabir approached me with a mischievous grin.

Kabir said "You know, Aditi, you look absolutely stunning tonight. I almost didn't recognize you without your usual book in hand."

I said "Oh, Kabir, always the charmer. But I must say, you clean up pretty well yourself. I didn't think you owned anything other than jeans and t-shirts."

Kabir said "Well, I had to make an exception for such a special occasion. Plus, I couldn't let Rishi outshine me, could I?"

I said, "Oh you're so delulu you could never outshine Jiju he has another level of charm?"

Kabir said while clutching his heart "Ouch, that hurts. But I'll take it as a challenge. Maybe I can win you over by the end of the night."

Before I could respond, Kanika Di and Rishi Jiju joined us, hand in hand.
