CHAPTER 18

The next morning was pleasantly serene, with the haveli looking especially beautiful in the soft morning light. Delhi was covered with the early morning sun, with dew drops on the leaves. Rishi was sleeping soundly in his room, having stayed up late due to an office call. He had a smile on his face while sleeping and was covered with the blanket, He felt like he was being gently awakened by an angelic voice. Smiling, still in sleep he murmured, "Am I in heaven and you're an angel?"

Kanika chuckled softly."Rishi sorry to wake you up but I needed some help". Rishi opened his eyes to realise that it was indeed a reality and not a dream he smiled and says "Good morning sweetheart" as he took Kanika onto his lap and hugged her. Kanika blushes at the nickname and says "Good morning to you too, My Husband to be"

"So what do you want that you woke me up so early," said Rishi "I want to prepare a special breakfast for everyone before my family and I leave for Jaipur I didn't want to wake up anyone, and the staff isn't around"

Rishi stretched and got up, heading to the bathroom while Kanika waited outside. As he washed his face, he couldn't help but think about how lucky he was. Soon, he would be waking up with Kanika by his side every day. Blushing at the thought, he finished up and joined her.

They quietly made their way to the kitchen, most of the household was still asleep. Deciding to make pancakes and poha for everyone, they set to work.

Kanika started mixing the pancake batter while Rishi chopped vegetables for the poha.

Kanika: "You know, you should add a little more milk to the batter. It looks too thick."

Rishi: "Are you sure? I think it's fine."

Kanika: "Trust me, Rishi. I've made pancakes a million times."

Rishi: "Alright, alright. You're the boss."

They shared a laugh, and Rishi added more milk to the batter. As they cooked, they couldn't help but sneak in a few playful moments.

Rishi: "Hey, Kanika, look at this perfect pancake flip!"

Kanika: "Not bad, but can you do it again?"

Rishi attempted another flip, but this time the pancake landed awkwardly, making them both burst into laughter.

Kanika: "Nice try, chef. Maybe stick to chopping vegetables."

Rishi: "I'll leave the fancy flips to you."

Despite the playful teasing, they worked well together, moving in sync as they prepared the breakfast. Kanika added the final touches to the pancakes, while Rishi finished cooking the poha.

Soon, the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of their efforts. They plated the food and set it on the dining table, just as the rest of the family began to wake up.

Kanika: "Breakfast is ready! I hope everyone enjoys it."

Rishi: "I'm sure they will. We make a great team."

They shared a warm smile, feeling accomplished and happy to have created something special together. Ahilya asked Rashmi "So Rashmiji when are you guys preparing to leave, I will get the car ready accordingly" "I believe we will leave in about an hour" Replied Rashmi

All the Elders of the family and youngsters were having Breakfast together once Aditi was done with her breakfast she left the room saying she needed to pack her stuff. After a while Rishi got a call when he looked at the caller ID he picked it up and as he was about to say something the other side responded "Don't say anything and just come to Room next to yours Right now and you better not tell about it to Kanika di" Rishi found it a bit weird but still got up and went to the Room
