Meera's Perspective

I sat on the edge of the bed, my heart heavy with confusion and sorrow. The magical night I had shared with Rishi now felt like a distant memory, overshadowed by the gnawing fear that he had left me for another woman. The mention of Shanya Kapoor had struck a chord of insecurity deep within me. I couldn't shake the image of Aarav with Shanya, wondering if their connection was stronger than what I and Rishi shared. My mind raced with questions and doubts, each one more painful than the last. Why hadn't Rishi woken me up to explain? Why was he not answering my calls? The silence was unbearable, amplifying my fears and leaving me feeling utterly alone.

Unable to bear the weight of my emotions any longer, I quietly slipped out of Rishi's apartment and walked next door to mine. As soon as I closed the door behind me, the tears I had been holding back began to flow freely. I sank to the floor, my sobs echoing in the empty room. I tried calling Aarav again and again, but each unanswered call only deepened my despair. The thought of losing him, especially after the beautiful night we had shared, was too much to bear. I cried until I had no more tears left, my heart aching with the fear that I had lost the love of my life.

As I was just about to leave my room, when my phone rang. I glanced at the screen and saw Shanaya Kapoor's name flashing. Shanaya is my long-distance cousin, someone I hadn't seen in years. I answered the call, and immediately, I could hear the distress in her voice.

"Rishi, please help me," Shanaya sobbed. "I don't know who else to call. My apartment caught fire, and I have nowhere to go. You're the only person I know in NYC."

My heart sank. I knew I had to help her, despite the complications it might bring. "Shanaya, calm down. I'm on my way. Just stay where you are," I reassured her, grabbing my keys and rushing out the door.

When I arrived at the scene, I found Shanaya sitting on the curb, tears streaming down her face. The sight of the charred remains of her apartment building was heartbreaking. I knelt beside her, offering a comforting embrace.

"It's going to be okay, Shanaya. We'll figure this out," I said softly.

"But where will I go? I have no place to stay," Shanaya cried, her voice trembling.
