"I can't believe we have to go back to college.", Danai groans, running the water through her curls. "My NYU fundi's{professors} are shit!"
"I'm nervous, It'll be my first year.", I say, as my body floats in the water. "NYU isn't scary. Plus, you'll have me. We'll have fun.", she says with a chuckle. Her boyfriend motions his fingers on her waist.
" Jol. Party every day!" Danai giggles, I jump out of the water, resting my blanket on the sand, and position my textbooks. "Annika!", she groans. "What?"
"We're on vacation, to have a good time. Jol!"
"No— no. I need to study."
"Bra. You're so boring!"
"Hey!", Danai says, pivoting to her boyfriend. "Check your man, girl!"
"Bek! {shut up}", he says, knocking my pen into the water. Are you serious?! "What the heck?!", I groan, capturing my textbook, in hand. As my feet stride towards the locker room.
"Annika!", Danai chases after me, pursuing me to the locker room. "I'm breaking up with him."
"Yoh?!, I say surprised. "I'm serious."
"You always say this— Are you Jas?!"
"Yes. I'm stubborn, but I'm trying. You're not boring, he's just a dick.", Danai continues, with a smirk. "I know."
She kisses my forehead, inducing a smile to form on my lips.

My gaze relocated toward my laptop, as it scanned the words. A lag[laugh] falls from my mouth. I did it!
