"Okay, everyone. We'll now start the grade evaluation!" the MC announced as the sound of a wall opening filled the room. The walls behind them parted, revealing all 78 participants.
Everyone was bewildered by the sudden reveal, their eyes widening in surprise as they took in the sight of all 78 participants.
Their mentors, who were also their judges, turned around and saw them, sharing the participants' bewildered expressions. "WHY'RE ALL THE MENTORS HERE...?!"
The girl was also taken aback. "Oh my," she exclaimed softly, clearly surprised by the unexpected turn of events.
"Long time no see, Trainers. You were surprised by the sudden situation, right?" The MC asked, addressing the startled participants. "The New <Relisted! Idol Joint-Stock Company>."
"The first challenge is..."
"The full-scale open evaluation!" the MC announced enthusiastically, his smile brightening the room.
.
"The 78 participants who practiced for the theme song will now evaluate each other from the audience's perspective," the MC announced.
"What?" The unexpected announcement left everyone in confusion, prompting them to exchange puzzled glances with each other. "It was an individual evaluation until last season..."
"We'll be determining your final grade through this open evaluation," the MC announced, reading from the small card in his hand.
"And for the participants... We'll do it in REVERSE!" The MC finally announced, causing the 78th participant to feel anxious and pressured by the unexpected twist.
"Our 78th Placer, Chu Seonggu, please come to the stage," the MC said.
"M...Me?" Chu Seonggu stammered, clearly anxious about being called up. "The evaluation has already begun!" The MC announced.
"W-why..." Chu Seonggu stammered, overwhelmed with anxiety.
All eyes were on Chu Seonggu, filled with both anxiety for him and anticipation for what was to come for themselves.
⌜ You should calm your breaths down, Host. The whole world is in chaos. ⌟
Shut the hell up.
⌜ And Stop admiring other people's face! ( 。 •̀ ᴖ •́ 。) ⌟
I rolled my eyes at the system's words and let out a sigh of relief, feeling fortunate to be sitting beside Seon Ahyeon.
The atmosphere is heavy.
An open evaluation, and they start from the bottom to boot. They're determined to mess with the participants' mental states.
"I-I'm sorry... I can't remember the choreography," Chu Seonggu stammered, frozen in place with embarrassment and nervousness.
"Woah, even I'm affected," one participant remarked. "What should we do...?" another participant muttered anxiously, sharing the concern in the room.
This atmosphere isn't helping me calm down at all!
⌜ Then, what does Host like to do when he is nervous? ⌟
I blinked and thought about it for a moment, finding solace only in the idea of talking to Ryu Gunwoo about my worries.
My eyes sharpened as I watched the scene unfold in front of me. One by one, they faltered under the weight of their anxiety, unable to perform the choreography and sing.
This cruel and undisguised evaluation set-up was an idea the production team already had in store.
"...Next, 77th place, Kim Yeongdo." Yeongrin called up the next participant on the list.
