⌜ One Week Later. ⌟
I arrived at Ahyeon's studio with Moondae. The place—whether it was his studio or his house—was massive and gleaming, every corner sparkling with a modern, almost glamorous touch.
Ahyeon's gleaming face was hard to miss, his presence as eye-catching as ever. "H-hey, you made it," he stammered, a smile tugging at his lips as he greeted us.
"M-make yourself at home," Ahyeon said, leading us into his living area. I was too busy taking in the surroundings, the space radiating a vibe that suited Ahyeon perfectly. "Oh, Moondae! You got here early!" he exclaimed, his excitement evident as he turned to him.
"Come in, come in! Ah! Seojun!!" Lee Sejin B exclaimed, his face glowing with happiness. I gave him a deadpan look, unimpressed by his enthusiasm. He really was making himself a little too comfortable.
Lee Sejin B was sprawled out on Ahyeon's couch, completely at ease. I let out a sigh and decided to follow Moondae instead, ignoring Sejin's carefree attitude.
"Aren't you going to take off a layer of your coat?" Lee Sejin B asked, eyeing me curiously when he noticed I wasn’t shedding any layers.
"I get cold quite easily," I replied simply, not bothering to elaborate further.
"Hm, hey guys, should we order food first before the others get here?" Lee Sejin B suggested casually.
"S-sure...! U-uh, I-I..." Ahyeon stammered, clearly unsure of how to respond.
"You wanna treat us? Nah, that’s alright," Lee Sejin B said with a grin, cutting him off before he could finish.
Moondae stared at Lee Sejin B for a moment before letting out a small sigh. Sejin was acting far too comfortable, as if this were his own home rather than Ahyeon’s.
"Hmm... Does chicken feet sound good? Actually, we should order chicken feet instead. What do you think, Moondae? Haha!" Lee Sejin B said with a grin.
"I-I'm fine with anything!" Ahyeon quickly chimed in, his voice a little too eager.
"Oh, Seojun, there are plenty of fruits in Ahyeon's kitchen! Take your pick!" Lee Sejin B said cheerfully. I shot him a deadpan look and let out a huff, unimpressed by his casual tone.
Lee Sejin B only grinned at my reaction, completely unfazed. He leaned back on the couch like he owned the place, clearly enjoying himself.
Meanwhile, Ahyeon fidgeted nervously, glancing between us. "U-uh, if you want, I can... um, cut some for you?" he offered hesitantly, his voice unsure but polite.
"I’m fine," I muttered, crossing my arms and leaning against the wall. I wasn’t about to let Sejin’s antics or Ahyeon’s overly accommodating nature get to me.
⌜ They have a variety of fruits, which one do you want? ⌟
I also shot a frown at the system, as if it too were part of the chaos around me. It always seemed to be lurking in the background, offering its unsolicited comments and making everything feel more surreal. The way it operated, observing without a word, only added to the frustration.
Mind your business!
⌜ Host, your business is my business too. ⌟
I gave a deadpan look at the system’s response, which casually stated that my business was also its business. The audacity of it, as if it had any right to involve itself in my personal matters.
I paused for a moment, rethinking everything. The system had been there ever since the trainee audition, watching every step I took, offering its unsolicited commentary. It wasn’t just an observer—it was involved in everything, whether I wanted it to be or not.
