Winter 2023 - March
"Jack, do you really think leaving them alone together will do any good?" Emma asked, sticking her head in between Jack and Jentry from the back seat of Jack's car.
"Probably not. But fuck, it was worth a shot," Jack shrugged. "Can't say we're not trying."
"That's true. Babe, oh my gosh we forgot to tell you. This dress that Ana is wearing tonight... Luke might actually bust a nut over it. She looks hot as fuck in it," Jentry snapped her fingers.
Jack bursted out laughing. "Well, it wouldn't take much," he cackled. "How long has it been? Eight months?"
"I think so," Emma replied.
"God damn. That could never be me," Jack said.
"No, literally," Jentry added. "At this point, the tension is so damn noticeable I'm just like, guys, do yourselves a favor and just have sex already. I'm not saying it'll solve all your problems, but–"
"Solves a lot of mine," Jack admitted, cracking a smile at Jentry.
"Mind out of the gutter, Rowdy," Emma chastised him.
"Sorry, didn't know my mother was here with us," he snickered, and Emma flicked the back of his neck. He yelped out loud, then proceeded to give her the finger.
"Hey, I'm driving here. Can't distract the man getting you to your ultimate destination."
"The fucking airport?" Emma blurted out with confusion.
"No, you bitch. A certain Huggy we are picking up from the airport, obviously," he mocked.
"Well, no shit, Jack," Jentry rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, back to Ana and Luke. I really hope he doesn't drag his feet or chicken out. I fear I might have to whoop his ass if he did that," Emma said.
"Get Quinn on his ass and then he will, don't you worry. Between you and him, Em, you'll put the fear of God in him to do it," Jack admitted.
"I know that's right. I've been trying to coax him along all this time leading up to the trip. Poor baby has to spread his wings and fly at some point."
"Yeah, fly right into that pussy," Jack quipped, and Jentry and Emma collectively slapped him on his arm, causing him to jump.
"Babe, I swear to God, just shut your mouth right now," Jentry threatened him.
"Okay Jack, let's not go that far," Emma attempted to back her up.
"Oh, of course, everyone gangs up on Rowdy again. Fuck you guys," he spat, trying to conceal his shit eating grin.
"Well try harder not to be such an easy target, Rowdy," Emma sneered, and Jentry giggled.
Several minutes later, Jack, Jentry, and Emma pulled into the airport once again, parking Jack's car. They quickly walked inside to get out of the bitter cold, finding their way to the terminal in which Quinn and the Canucks team would be coming out of.
"They should be landing anytime now, I think. I'm sure he'll text me when he's here," Emma said.
"Perfect. We can just wait here, then," Jentry said, gesturing towards some chairs off to the side. They all walked over and sat together, waiting for a text message that Quinn had arrived in New Jersey.
After about 30 minutes, Emma's phone lit up, as did her expression seeing the familiar name on her phone screen.
Quinn: We made it, the team is getting off now. So damn excited to see u.
