Winter 2023 - March

As the teams skated off the ice for intermission, Jack and Quinn found themselves face-to-face by the tunnel. The tension was thick, but there was a glint of amusement in Jack's eyes.

"Good stick, Rowdy," Quinn said, his tone a mix of admiration and challenge.

"Thanks, Q," Jack replied with a smirk. "Hope you're ready for the next period."

They exchanged a quick, competitive nod before retreating to their respective locker rooms.

Luke and Ana chatted during the second intermission, while Emma and Jentry went to the bathroom. In the middle of the conversation, Ana couldn't help but notice a blonde haired girl a few rows in front of her and Luke.

It was either a major coincidence that she was flat out staring in their direction, or she was checking out Luke hard core.

She knew it was the latter when the girl got up and began making her way to them, her eyes still fixated on Luke. He hadn't noticed her yet, and thank God he hadn't, because she was hoping she would just walk on past them.

"Hey, aren't you Jack and Quinn Hughes' brother? Luke, right?" she said, a sultry expression on her face. This girl couldn't have been older than seventeen years old. But boy, was she thirsting over Luke.

Luke turned his head away from Ana to glance at the blonde. "Yeah, I am," was all he replied with, clearly unbothered as he turned his attention back to Ana.

"What were you saying, Ana Kate?" he asked, but Ana's eyes were still glaring at the girl.

Who the fuck does she think she is talking to him? Fucking puck bunnies.

"If you're staying in Jersey this weekend, I know there's a place where you could find yourself, if you were to ever get lonely," she continued, and Ana cringed at her words.

She cannot be serious.

Now visibly annoyed, Luke huffed. "Appreciate the offer, but no thank you," he said flatly.

"You and your girlfriend broke up though, right? So aren't you single?" the girl took a step closer to him. Ana's face became flushed with anger, and she bit down on the inside of her cheek.

God, they fucking stalk him and figure out everything about his life and our life. Fucking hell.

"Enjoy the rest of the game," he dismissed her, completely over this interaction. He was getting secondhand embarrassment from her.

Ana finally snapped.

"What's your name, sweetheart?" she asked, an edge in her voice.

"Mallory," she answered.

"Well, Mallory, I hate to break the news to you like this, but I am his girlfriend, and I kindly suggest you go sit back down and we'll forget about this little interaction, yeah?"

Mallory's eyes widened at Ana, and not another word was said as she left Luke and Ana, going back down to her seat.

Ana huffed a sigh of frustration. "Fucking puck bunnies. I swear to God," she groaned, still tore up with jealousy and annoyance.

Luke hadn't taken his eyes off her. "Ana Kate..."

"You don't gotta say anything, Lukey. It just made me so mad. I fucking hate when they bother you like that, it just–"

"Hey, hey, it's alright, Ana Kate. I was not worried about that girl in the slightest. She's just like all the others. They're puck bunnies for a reason," he said to her.
