Onyx's world was a blur of pain and darkness, punctuated by Kardinall's mocking laughter. The tortures had pushed him to the brink, but deep within, Achelios stirred, his sinister energy bubbling to the surface. As Kardinall turned away, satisfied with his work, Onyx felt Achelios seize control, his body thrumming with demonic power.

“Enough is enough,” Achelios hissed within Onyx’s mind. “It’s time to make our move.”

Onyx’s eyes snapped open, now glowing with a malevolent light. He felt a surge of strength as Achelios took the reins, his senses sharpening. With a guttural growl, he broke free of his restraints, the chains snapping like twigs. The guards in the room barely had time to react before Onyx was upon them, moving with a speed and ferocity that left no room for defense.

Onyx's movements were swift and precise. A single guard fell to the ground, unconscious from a well-placed strike. Another guard tried to raise his weapon, but Achelios flung him against the wall with a flick of Onyx’s wrist, leaving him dazed. The remaining guards collapsed just as swiftly, their consciousness slipping away.

Onyx’s hands trembled with a mixture of fear and determination. Achelios reveled in the chaos, his voice a dark whisper in Onyx’s mind. “Good, Onyx. Let the power flow. Embrace the chaos.”

The two of them moved through the mansion like a storm. Each room they entered became a scene of confusion and panic, guards scrambling to respond. Onyx’s sickles, Eclipse and Shadow’s Edge, danced through the air, disarming and incapacitating anyone who stood in their way. Eclipse transformed into a sickle staff, its deadly arc cutting through weapons and armor, while Shadow’s Edge sliced with precision.

As they approached the main hall, Onyx began to feel a strange disorientation. The faces of the people he incapacitated started to blur, morphing into familiar ones—Greyson, Ren, Gerald, Tixo, Wei, Sterling. He shook his head, trying to clear the hallucinations, but they only grew stronger.

In his mind, he saw Greyson looking at him with disgust, Ren turning away in disappointment, Gerald snarling with anger. “Monster,” they seemed to say. “You’re nothing but a beast.”

“No, it’s not real,” Onyx muttered, but the hallucinations persisted. Achelios laughed darkly within him. “They’ll never accept you, Onyx. You’re better off without them.”

Onyx’s resolve wavered, the confusion and fear growing stronger. He stumbled through the hallway, fighting both the real enemies and the phantoms in his mind. The faces of his friends taunted him, their voices harsh and condemning.

“Onyx, you’re a danger to us all.”

“You’re better off alone.”

“You don’t belong with us.”

The words cut deeper than any blade, and Onyx felt his sanity slipping. Achelios tried to maintain control, but the hallucinations were too strong. Onyx’s movements became erratic, his strikes less precise.

Kardinall, sensing the disturbance, appeared at the end of the hallway, his eyes gleaming with malice. “Ah, the beast awakens. But can you control it, Onyx?”

Onyx roared, charging at Kardinall, but the vampire lord was ready. He parried Onyx’s attack effortlessly, his movements smooth and calculated. The battle was fierce, but Onyx’s fragmented mind made it difficult to maintain the upper hand.

Suddenly, Achelios surged forward, wresting control once more. “Enough of this!” he snarled, his power flaring. With a burst of demonic energy, he sent Kardinall staggering back, buying them precious moments to escape.

Onyx stumbled outside, the cool night air hitting his face. He breathed deeply, trying to regain his composure. The hallucinations faded slightly, but their impact lingered, leaving him shaken.

Achelios’s voice was a dark whisper. “We’re not safe yet. Keep moving.”

With the last of his strength, Onyx ran into the night, the haunting faces of his friends still echoing in his mind. As the mansion disappeared behind him, he couldn’t shake the fear that the hallucinations were more than just illusions—that his friends truly saw him as a monster.

The burden of his actions felt heavier than ever, and Onyx knew that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges. But for now, he was free, and with Achelios by his side, he would face whatever came next.

As he ran, Onyx began to slow, the adrenaline fading. He found himself in a clearing, his mind a swirl of fear and doubt. Just then, the sound of footsteps reached his ears—his friends had caught up to him.

“Onyx!” Greyson called out, his voice a mix of relief and worry.

Onyx turned, seeing the familiar faces of his friends, but the hallucinations distorted their expressions, making them look hostile and cruel. He stumbled back, shaking his head. “No… stay away…”

Ren stepped forward, concern etched on his face. “Onyx, it’s us. We’re here to help.”

“No!” Onyx shouted, his mind fracturing further. “You’re not real! You’re not my friends!”

Achelios tried to seize control, but Onyx’s mental state was too fragile. He lashed out, his sickles flashing as he struck at the illusions. His friends dodged, trying to reach him, but Onyx’s fear and confusion made him unpredictable.

“Onyx, calm down!” Greyson pleaded, but Onyx couldn’t hear him through the chaos in his mind.

Tixo and Wei moved swiftly, trying to disarm Onyx without hurting him. Ren, his heart breaking at seeing Onyx like this, stepped closer, his voice gentle yet firm. “Onyx, please. It’s me. It’s Ren.”

Onyx paused, his eyes locking onto Ren’s. For a moment, the hallucinations faded, and he saw the genuine concern and love in Ren’s eyes. But the voices in his mind still whispered doubts.

“You don’t belong.”

“You’re a danger.”

“You’re a monster.”

With a final, desperate cry, Onyx fell to his knees, his sickles clattering to the ground. Achelios receded, his presence a dark shadow within Onyx’s mind. “I’m sorry,” Onyx whispered, tears streaming down his face.

Ren rushed to his side, wrapping his arms around Onyx. “It’s okay. We’re here. We’ll get through this together.”

The rest of the group approached cautiously, their worry evident. Greyson knelt beside Onyx, placing a hand on his shoulder. “We’re not leaving you, Onyx. No matter what.”

Onyx looked up at his friends, the hallucinations gone but their words still haunting him. He knew the road ahead would be difficult, but with his friends by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope.

Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, and Onyx would fight to reclaim his place among them.
