The grand hall of Kardinall’s mansion was a chilling blend of opulence and darkness, its gothic architecture casting long, sinister shadows. Kardinall sat upon his throne, eyes gleaming with amusement as he regarded the captured group before him. The group stood bound and weary, their previous battle wounds still fresh.
Kardinall’s voice was smooth and mocking as he addressed them. “You’ve made quite an entrance. Now, tell me, what brings you to my humble abode?”
Onyx, struggling to maintain his composure, stepped forward. “We need a vial of vampire blood.”
Kardinall’s laughter echoed through the hall, a sound both elegant and cruel. “And what makes you think I would part with such a precious commodity? What will you offer me in return?”
Onyx’s mind raced. “We...we have nothing to offer.”
The vampire lord leaned back, tapping his fingers together. “Nothing? How disappointing.” His gaze shifted to Greyson. “You, Grim Reaper, surely you know the value of a good trade. What are you willing to sacrifice?”
Greyson’s eyes narrowed, his mind clearly working through possibilities. But before he could respond, Achelios’s presence surged within Onyx, taking control.
“Offer him his own life,” Achelios growled through Onyx, the demon’s voice laced with menace.
Kardinall’s eyes lit up with interest. “Ah, the demon inside you speaks. How intriguing. But I’m afraid your threats mean little to me.”
The group’s struggle to contain Achelios proved futile as the demon took full control, unleashing a feral frenzy. Onyx’s eyes turned black, and he lunged forward, his claws extended.
“Onyx, stop!” Ren shouted, trying to reach him.
Achelios’s laughter filled the room. “You think you can calm me? Pathetic.”
The ensuing chaos saw Tixo and Wei leaping into the fray, fighting off Kardinall’s vampire guards with ferocity. Tixo’s twin sai moved in a blur, slicing through enemies with brutal efficiency. One vampire fell, clutching his throat as blood sprayed, while another crumpled under a well-placed kick.
Wei used his siren abilities, his haunting song disorienting the vampires, allowing him to strike with lethal precision. His agility and grace were a stark contrast to the brutal force Tixo wielded, but both were equally deadly.
Ren fought valiantly, his draconic energy blasts tearing through the ranks of vampires. “We need to hold them off!”
Achelios, meanwhile, tore through the enemies with wild abandon, the demon’s savage glee palpable. “More! Let me feast on their fear!”
Despite their combined efforts, the sheer number of enemies overwhelmed them. Achelios’s control over Onyx only added to the chaos, making it impossible for the group to coordinate effectively.
“Onyx, fight him!” Greyson called out, desperation in his voice.
The internal struggle between Onyx and Achelios reached a fever pitch. Onyx’s consciousness clawed its way to the surface, fighting against the demon’s hold. “I...won’t...let you...win!” he screamed, the force of his willpower finally pushing Achelios back.
