Warnings: Loss of family, possible gaslighting?
Gender: Female

I really don't see a lot of Roy's out there. I wanted to write one that could have some funny lines in and... I think I did well?
I should mention Roy's personality in this is far different from normal. So rather then the dorky, cute prince he is, he acts more smug and mature, but still caring. Trust me, I've got some ideas for classic/dorky Roy in the works.

Also, I put in minor gaslighting warning because of the way the two characters talk, as some may take it the wrong way, especially given the way some of this is worded, but know I did not intend for it to be seen as such. Roy is genuinely trying to be helpful, not trick or manipulate the protagonist.

Also also, I wrote this as if everyone is over 18. You can read the rules as to why.

Enjoy!

~Reader POV~

"Grah!!" I slashed the Lycain guard with my blade. I saw his body go limp, blood flowing freely. I looked at the other army soldiers as I panted and sweat caked my head. "I'm still ready!"

I held my weapon, in the 3 vs 1 battle. A quick dodge, another slash, and I cut off someone's head. One was behind me and I gave the soldier a quick kick before plunging my blade into their stomach. A quick turn around while holding my sword ready, and I slashed the person's neck. 4 kills, and I heaved to get air.

"Father!!" I yelled. "Where are you!?" I called for him. I raced around our hideout, trying to find Him. All chaos was breaking loose; the Lycain army had found our little bandit hideout, and started to just ransack the place. Geez, and they call us savages.

I raced around, trying to avoid the small fires breaking out from mage spells, seeing many of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms dead. I was killing as many soldiers as I could, and urging those injured to escape. It was hard for me to witness it all, but I had to keep going. I had to avenge my fallen family! Even if I wasn't related to all of them by blood, as a clan, we were all one.
Suddenly, I heard a cry of pain to my right, where our mess hall was. I had a stare in shock, that sounded much like...
"Father!"

Racing in, I saw my father, having just been slashed by a young adult looking boy, around my age. He held a rapier and had red hair, with blue eyes that matched his armor. He was the one calling the shots, and leading the army. The boy turned to see me as I was still in shock. "Father!!" I raced past the boy, who stared at me and let me approach the dying body.

Kneeling down, I held my dad's upper body; brushing the grey and shaggy hair from his face. "Father! Please, don't leave me! I-I can fix t-this!"

"*cough* I-I'm sorry... (Y-Y/N)... it seems... it's over for... m-me." He coughed up a little blood as he spoke, and it curved down the side of his mouth. I was shaking my head as tears fell.

"No No! Don't say that! I-I'll find Tilly the cleric a-and--"

"Stop." He demanded. "L-listen... I must t-tell you... you... are not... m-my own."

I stared at him wide eyed. "W-What?! What do you mean!?"

"I... f-found you in... a v-village we... raided. I couldn't... w-watch you die... I took you...*cough* T-Thank you... Kid... for everything..."

My tears were racing down my face, and I saw my father brush the tears away with a small smile, but then he had a small coughing fit, before I saw his chest stop moving and his arm go limp. "Father?! FATHER!!" I yelled unable to hold back all my tears and they streamed down my face onto the now lifeless body. "No!! Why?! Why did you have to go?!"
