I needed to do a Chrom x Reader. It was about time. Also, I'm headed to Key West for vacation!! I'll probably be board on the plane so maybe I'll brainstorm ideas. (I already have one I know NO ONE is expecting, and hope for that to be out either next or after that.)

Enjoy!

~Reader POV~

My mind was fuzzy, memories hard to remember. I had lost track of time in this hellhole of a dungeon. My blood stained the floors and chains that bound me, and I could barely keep myself awake anymore.

How could I let this happen? Of all fates to befall a Shepherd, why did the worst have to come to me? I'd rather die then be held prisoner, as now I am left to the enemies mercy, and they could use me against my friends. They could threaten my life, or torture me for plans, which they liked to do extensively.

How long has it been? My mind was unable to recall, as time felt like it dragged on here. The way I was caught; embarrassing. I had been shot off from my pegasus and fell to the earth. Once I regained my composure after such a tumble, I had felt my hands being bound, mouth being gagged, and legs tied. My struggles were useless, the enemy had caught me and was shuffling me away quickly before any of the other shepherds could hear my plea. It seemed like I was the only one to be captured, so while the enemy suffered a loss in terms of battle, they had a grand prize in me.

They chained me up, and demanded answers. They wanted plans of attack, weaknesses of my friends, anything to give them advantages in battle. I kept my mouth silent, but instead, they dragged me though torture. I had to keep my willpower, but it was fading. I was starved, weak, and still wounded. They always would heal the worst of the injuries, to make sure I stayed alive to have more horrors brought upon me.

Was this death coming for me? Is this how it felt? I may have been chained by the wrists, but I was laying on the ground, on my side, staring blankly ahead. I didn't have the strength to move anymore, I couldn't call for help, I couldn't stand up.

I would fade in and out, and begin to see those I knew, but they would disappear without freeing me. I begged for them to set me free; I could see Fredrick, Robin, Miriel, Sumia and of course, my lover Chrom. Yet while they acknowledged me, they refused to release me. I begged Chrom to free me, but he kept giving me his hand and insisting I take it, and fallow him. Fallow him somewhere special he said, to a new land. "Please... come with me..." He would speak. "Leave this place... stay at my side..." and I would reach for it, only to be unable to grab it before he seemed to disappear.

Even if I did not have the strength to move, having him at my side in this state made me feel more comfortable. There were times I felt like I was finally free, able to be taken by him and go, but I would always be brought back down by the chains that kept me bound. "C-C-Ch-Chrom..." I would beg him to stay. But he would come and go. Yet having him near me at all, it felt comforting.

Suddenly, I felt the ground shake, and within a blink everyone was gone. I thought I heard noises all over the place, yells of people in battle and cries of pain. I heard it get closer and closer to the end of the hall from the cell I was in. Suddenly, I saw Chrom kneeling in front of me, holding his hand with caring eyes. I went to reach for it, and I actually managed to hold it.

I could hear his voice, "(Y/N!) (Y/N!)" I could hear him call, echoing and muffled. I had a small smile on my face. My eyes found it hard to stay open.
"P-p-please... t-take... m-m-m-me..." I begged. I had his hand in my own. Grabbing it made me feel so calm, so relaxed. I closed my eyes once more, as I felt my lover pull me up and into an embrace... we would finally be together. I felt the chains unbind me from the prison, I was finally free...
