In the north, a king watched over his kingdom from a balcony at the highest point of the castle. His long, bone white fingers tapped against the railing as his eyes scanned the horizon and the sea beneath it.
The stars overhead turned it into a sparkling abyss in the night.
But that was not what captured the king's attention so fully.
He could feel her. Drawing closer with each day. Every inch of his body hummed with the feeling. His breath quickened with anticipation.
Patient. He needed to be patient.
Easier said than done when their hearts beated in tandem.
