"Order for table two," Cyan, another part timer pressed the bell.
The restaurant is full, maybe because Christmas is around the corner kaya napakaraming reservation for Christmas break. Nabuhayan akong mag work kase malamig na ang simog ng hangin, which means Christmas break is almost here. I have a lot of plans para sa pasko kaya excited akong gawin ito lahat.
Kasalukuyan akong naghuhugas ng plato kase kakatapos ko lang mag luto kaya napagdesisyonan kong mag hugas ng pinggan. Boss Julie doesn't want me to overworked myself kaya ako lang hindi na busy sa loob ng kitchen.
"Hoy Teresa, anong plano mo sa pasko?" Tanong ng isa kong ka trabaho na si Albert.
"Marami eh, pero uunahin ko pamilya ko tapos mga kaibigan ko. Maybe dinner night will do?" I said unsure yet, I haven't organized my plans yet.
Now that the kitchen has settled down, Albert went closer and whispers to my ear.
"Hey, you're close with Cyan right?" He asked so suddenly.
"What's about him?" I asked back in a low voice.
Our sight followed Cyan serving and cooking in the kitchen, he's only one year older than us pero he's a new comer sa restaurant. He's a good guy, hindi madaldal pero he's fun to be with naman.
"He's actually my crush, can you do me a favor?" I can sense shyness in his voice. Napangisi ako, now this is work for me.
"I know what your favor is, don't worry I got your back. So what's the plan?"
Ngumiti ito. "Really? Salamat test! The best ka talaga!"
"So what's the plan?"
"Can you help me set me up with him this week? I'm planning to confess." He blushed.
"Oh? That's interesting, saan ba gusto mo?"
"Dito sa restaurant lang and I already told boss Julie about it to give us a free day." He blushed, natawa ako.
"Love is indeed dangerous, it makes you do something stupid." Natawa ako.
"Sige na Tes, tulongan mo na ako." Nguso nito.
"Oo na, kailan ba iyan?" Tanong ko tapos nag trapo ng kamay.
"This Tuesday, are you free? Sa gabi lang naman. Can you tell him please?" Nag puppy eyes pa si Albert kaya mas natawa ako.
Actually, hindi lang ako si Teresa Delos Santos sa restaurant na ito. Bininyagan nila ako ng titulong 'the matchmaker'. It started when an American guy told me na may crush ito sa isang worker ni boss Julie, kaya I set them up, and fortunately mag jowa na sila ngayon. Many similar scenarios happened tapos ako lahat ang kapakanan nun'. They told me I have good luck when it comes to relationships. Pero I don't believe in that, eh sariling relationship ko nga ay complicated eh.
"Sige, I'll tell Cyan. Ako na bahala."
He hugged me. "Yes! Salamat tes! I'll treat you after. I heard you are obsessed with chocolate bars, guess what I'll buy you a box of those."
"Now that's a great deal." Sabay tawa ko.
Aakma ko na sanang lalapitan si Cyan when I bumped into someone. Naalog saglit utak ko nga beh.
"Teresa?"
That voice!
"Boss Julie, good evening po!" Masiglang bati ko sa boss ko.
She chuckle. "You seem in a hurry. What's up?"
I gave her a wink. "Matchmaker things."
Her mouth formed an 'O'. "I think I know who is it."
