C A S S I A
I get out of the car and meet up with Lorenzo at the trunk. He unlocks it as he takes the suitcases out, including mine. I put my hands in my jeans' back pocket, watching him roll the suitcases onto the porch.
"You just gonna stand there or go inside?" He asks, closing the trunk and locking it. I roll my eyes and return to the passenger seat, grabbing my things before slamming the car door shut. I approach the entrance when I see our parents standing right out in front.
"You guys made it!" Mrs. Garcia says, as she clasps her hands together and smiles brightly. I return the smile before it slowly falters when I remember the process I had to endure in that damned car. "We made it," Lorenzo repeats, as he walks towards his mother and kisses her on the forehead.
I make my way towards my parents, giving them a tight-lipped smile. "I'm here. We didn't kill each other, surprisingly." My parents laugh as my mother shakes her head. "Yeah, thank God for that." I talk with them for a bit before Mr. Garcia comes down the stairs, explaining the room situation to everyone.
There are 3 floors in the villa, and 5 bedrooms on floors 2 and 3, 2 bedrooms being on the first floor. Lorenzo's parents decided to take the first floor, my parents took the second, and the third was for us. I didn't stress too much about it, since I figured that the rooms would be far apart from each other. That way, I would barely have to interact with Lorenzo.
I make my way upstairs, taking a look at the third floor. It is beautifully decorated with abstract art, following a long carpet that runs through every hall. Dragging my suitcase behind me, I take in the view in front of me. I end up taking the first room you come across when going up the stairs. It had plenty of space, sharing a bathroom with the room beside me.
I sit on the bed, sighing deeply as I take my converses off. I have a love-hate relationship with road trips. Being stuck in the same position for an exceedingly long period of time is exhausting, to say the least. Add being stuck in the same vicinity with a person you despise - bonus points. I check my phone for the time, reading 6PM on the dot. With that, I decide to go downstairs to see if there's anything to eat. Leaving the room, I look to my left and I see that the door to the room beside me is wide open. Curious, I slowly walk towards the room and take a peek to see who's in there.
And of course.
It's Lorenzo.
He sees me standing outside his room, and his face immediately drops. He folds his arm over his chest which is now bare, and I come to realize that he doesn't have a shirt on. "You just had to be next to me, didn't you?" He says as he strides towards me, attempting to shut the door before I put my foot in between, stopping the door from closing.
"For your information, I came up here first. So if anything, you just want to be next to me. There is no way you had no clue that I wasn't in the room right next to you." There's seriously something wrong with this boy.
"Do you know how big this floor is? And you expect me to believe that you just randomly picked this room with no knowledge that I was in the next room? Bullshit." I see that his hand isn't on the door anymore, and I take that as a chance to push it open. There is no way that he's staying in this room. And I'm not leaving either.
"Is that stick so far up your ass that you think I'd willingly choose the room beside you? Really, think about it for a second. I know common sense isn't common for you but for once in your life please consider it. I'm not leaving, so you better figure something out." He spoke, ripping my grasp on the door.
