Stacey and Matthew sheepishly walked out of his bedroom into the kitchen where Ann had already put out two extra cups of coffee and was waiting for them at the table.
"Good morning, you two." Ann said while sipping her coffee.
"Ahem, good morning Ann." Stacey and Matthew said giggling.
"So getting back to work, lets get started on my evil ways please, since you had yours last night." Ann grinned.
"Right yes, let's get going." Matthew said as he got his keys and jacket and led the ladies out the house.
Beth opened the shop and got the new waitress to work when the door opened and in walked Ann and Stacey laughing and giggling.
Beth stood there with her mouth open and quickly got angry.
"What the hell are you doing here!" She yelled.
Ann and Stacey stood looking back at Beth when Ann moved towards her and grabbed her arm tightly.
"What's the matter Bethy, aren't you happy to see us?" Ann asked grinning.
"No!" Beth yanked her arm back from Ann.
"You were both supposed to be gone, for good. I've worked to hard to have this happen." Beth screamed at them.
"What do you mean?" Ann asked Beth.
"I found out about your dirty little secret Ann, but I kept it to myself until your precious Stacey showed up and ruined my plan. I wanted the coffee shop, I put in those extra shifts and all the hard work and then Miss sunshine shows up and you forget me!" Beth said still yelling.
"And then? What did you do Beth?" Ann continued to ask.
"Then? What do you think, I had to use your secret. Now everyone is going to know what you did and who you were." Beth said laughing hysterically.
"Ah, but you see Beth you don't have my secret. Because there is no secret. I don't know what you think you know, but it's far from what you think." Ann said smug.
"You killed your boyfriend and have been on the run ever since!" Beth exclaimed.
Matthew and his officers entered the coffee shop then and walked towards Beth.
"Officers, here she is, the murderer. She was stupid enough to come back just to be caught." Laughed Beth.
"No, actually Beth we are here for you." Matthew motioned for the officer to put the handcuffs on her.
"What? No, wait not me. Ann did it." Beth yelled surprised.
"Ann hasn't done anything, but you have done quite a lot." Matthew answered her.
The officers escorted Beth outside to the waiting patrol car.
"Well that was fun, hey guys?" Ann said to the customers.
Everybody started at the scene with open mouths and in astonishment at what unfolded right in front of them.
"So let's get everybody a strong cup of coffee and then get this place back to the way it was supposed to be, except for one change." Ann said looking at Stacey.
Stacey looked back at Ann questionably.
"Everyone please can we welcome my new business partner." Ann smiled widely and clapped her hands.
All the customers in the shop joined in at this.
Matthew went to stand next to Stacey and whispered in her ear.
"Does that mean I have free coffee for a lifetime?"
Stacey laughed at that and hugged her friend.
"Thank you, you don't know what this means to me." Stacey said to Ann.
"I do, it means I can travel and finally go back home now and then without looking over my shoulder or in fear." Ann replied.
"That actually sounds like a great idea." Stacey smiled.
"Well it seems you have finally settled." Ann said to Stacey as they on Ann's back porch watching the sun set and having a well-deserved glass of wine.
"Seems so, hey." Stacey sighed.
