Vanessa's POV

"Nessa, focus on the road, boo," Brooklyn chuckled, taking my phone out of my hand.

I quickly pressed the off button before she could take it away completely, not wanting her to see the messages between me and Anastasia.

"You freaky bitch," she laughed, shaking her head knowingly as I blushed.

"Oh hush," I waved her off and focused on making my way to Malia's house.

Anastasia and I have been back for a week and a half now, but when we returned, I still couldn't bring myself to separate from her. I've been staying at her house up until earlier today.

We had to return to the real world eventually, so Anastasia went to talk to her parents today, and I decided I wanted my best friend to meet my new friends.

After I pick everyone up, we're going to the mall, then bowling, and finishing with a sleepover at my place.

"Why is Dakota texting you?" Brooklyn asked, making me roll my eyes.

Since being back, I've noticed people bashing me on social media. Random family members have been messaging me, calling me heartless and evil. My parents are furious and demanding to talk. Surprisingly, Victoria hasn't contacted me.

All of that was expected. What I didn't expect was to be getting my phone blown up by my furious, overbearing ex.

I get that she's Victoria's friend, but the way she's coming off is like a girlfriend I did dirty.

It's confusing, because we haven't been together for two years, so there's no reason for her to spam me with calls and texts about my behavior and choices.

I might have read most of her messages, but like I did with everyone else, I ignored her.

I don't have time for hate.

The only people I responded to were Vance, because he checked in on me and set up a hangout, and my Yaya, who I called to tell about the trip.

"She thinks she's somebody's girlfriend. I've been ignoring her," I shrugged, looking both ways before turning on my blinkers and making a turn.

"Unt unt. Does Ana know she's texting you like this?" Brooklyn asked, typing in my password and scrolling through the messages.

"Mhm. She told me to block her," I hummed, drumming my fingers on the steering wheel.

"Why haven't you?" I glanced at her, catching her skeptical expression.

"Oh please, Brookie. I'm not worried about Dakota, trust that," I chuckled, shaking my head.

"I'm just saying-"

"I know what you're saying and it's not that. I honestly just forgot. You can block her. What did she say this time?" I asked as we pulled into Malia's street.

"Oh, so we're reading messages and not responding now? Vanessa, stop playing with me," Brooklyn read aloud, and we both burst out laughing.

"Who does sis think she isssss," Brooklyn dragged out before going to block her.

I shook my head, parking in Malia's driveway. "My girl," I joked.

"Delusional."

"Oh nah. Here, take your phone back." Brooklyn scrunched up her face and tossed it into my lap.

Frowning, I looked down and saw Anastasia had texted me.

I bit my lip while responding, and heard Brooklyn gag dramatically beside me.
