how they confessed!

SUNNY:

    SUNNY didn't confess to you for a LONG time. he liked you for two years, not telling anyone, until he finally decided to tell MARI. MARI, in turn, told HERO, and they came up with a plan to help SUNNY. they were going to have him tell you on the day of the recital, after the performance. but... as we all know... that day didn't go very well. MARI passed, SUNNY didn't confess, and he locked himself in his house. you didn't see him again... despite how hard you tried to get him to come out of his house. over the years, you came to terms with it, and got over him, that is, until 4 years later, when he was about to move away. KEL gathered the gang back together, and you all became friends again. you found out the truth about MARI's death, and then SUNNY moved away. it was hard. KEL barely managed to keep you all together, as you all felt betrayed by BASIL and SUNNY. eventually, you worked through it all. you all would often go to visit SUNNY and reunite the gang, and SUNNY would often come back to visit MARI with you all and stay a while. slowly but surely, you got incredibly close to SUNNY again... he was your childhood best friend, how could you not? your feelings for him began to come back, and SUNNY's feelings for you had never even left. well into adulthood, when you two were 20, he decided 10 years of liking you was enough, and he needed to confess to you. he talked to HERO about it, since he already knew, and HERO got AUBREY, KEL, AND BASIL together, as well. the gang helped him, despite how nervous he was. he decided to go for something relatively simple. he bought your favorite flowers, and met up with you in your old hangout spot in FARAWAY PARK. he tried his best to be 'confident', as HERO told him to, but he was soft-spoken and nervous. you thought it was cute, and of course told him you feel the same way. he was increddddibly happy, didn't very well show it, but you could tell.

BASIL

    BASIL was extremely nervous about liking you and confessing to you. you're his absolute closest friend, he loves you, and he didn't want to ruin the friendship you have. he cherished the friend group too much to risk it. it was a long time before he finally got over his fears and confessed to you. you had always been best friends, and after MARI's passing, you and him stayed incredibly close. as much as he tried to push you away, just like everyone else, being ashamed of what he did, you wouldn't let him. you also tried your best to stay close to everyone else, but SUNNY locked himself away, AUBREY got upset at BASIL, and in turn left both him and you for THE HOOLIGANS. you and KEL stayed relatively close, which helped you sort of stay connected to HERO, but it was mainly just you and BASIL at this point. your feelings for him remained, and his feelings for you increased, knowing you stayed with him when nobody else did. it isn't until a while after MARI passed that he finally got the courage to confess to you. he spent a while ensuring he could make it perfect. he plucked some flowers from his garden, the ones you liked the most, and wrote you such a cute little note to go with them. it was summertime, and he invited you over to his house. he cooked your favorite meal, (with some help from POLLY, who was in on it all), and you ate together. you intended to stay the night, and after dinner, while hanging out in his room, he gave you the flowers with the note attached, and asked if he could be your boyfriend. of course, you said yes, and hugged him. when you got home the next day, you put the flowers in a vase (and dried them later to keep forever), and read the note you found secretly tucked inside. it was full of endless compliments, and literally the cutest thing ever. you wonder how you got
so, so lucky.

AUBREY:

    AUBREY was just in denial of her feelings for a really long time, and didn't realize and admit to herself that she actually liked you until you were both about 14. her confession was extremly unplanned, because it was relatively just... in the moment. you hadn't expected it, and neither had she. after MARI's passing, you two only had each other left, and became closer than ever. it was one day in the midst summertime, you were both 15, and you were hanging out with THE HOOLIGANS on the roof of some random abandoned building outside of FARAWAY TOWN. eventually, THE HOOLIGANS began to leave one by one, until only you and AUBREY were left. it was warm outside with a nice slight breeze, and you both were taking in the view. you dangerously sat extremely close to the edge with her. as you looked out into the distance, the view mainly being trees as it was pretty far from society and... abandoned, AUBREY looked at... you. you looked amazing, candid and stunning, and she just stared at you in awe. you were so close to her... and somehow she still wanted to be closer. she called your name, and you turned to look at her. the expression on your face... she admired your beauty before ultimately deciding she needed to tell you she was completely, hopelessly in love with you... and she needed to tell you now. so she did.
"i think i'm in love with you," she blurted, looking directly into your eyes.
you were shocked. you didn't expect her to actually like you the way you liked her, and you especially didn't expect her to just say it like that, in the moment. she immediately regretted her decision, seeing your expression of pure shock, thinking you didn't like her like that... she apologized, and told you to forget about it, but you shut her up by kissing her. and that was the start of that!

KEL:

    KEL's a relatively confident guy, so he wasn't all that nervous about confessing to you. but... his confession was actually completely unplanned and unintentional. after MARI passed, you stayed close to KEL. despite your attempts to stay close to everyone else, as well, you all ended up seperating. SUNNY locked himself away. BASIL seperated himself from the rest. AUBREY became angry and resentful. and HERO focused on his schoolwork. for the most part, it was just you and KEL. he still tried to put that strong facade on for your sake, and when you became upset he always cheered you up. you often had to remind him that it's okay to be not okay, and ask him how he was feeling, what was bothering him. that made him fall even more for you, knowing that you truly cared for him, and how he felt. one day, in the cold winter, a while after MARI had passed, you both were visiting her grave together. you came in your warm, cozy outfits for the intense cold, and brought some snacks, (MARI's favorites), and a blanket. you sat with MARI and talked to her, to each other, about everything and anything. you had gotten there in the evening, and as it got later, KEL was talking and eventually... you fell asleep. he felt your head fall onto his shoulder, and looked down at you and laughed.
"i got really lucky... didn't i, MARI?" he sighed. "i love you, Y/N. i really do..."
little did he know, you're quite the light sleeper, and awoke the second he began talking. although you weren't fully coherent or completely conscious... you still caught what he had said.
"i love you, too, KEL.'

HERO:

    HERO was NOT shy at all when it came to confessing with you. he is THE ultimate ladies man. he has a way with words and he is insanely charming. he's got that confidence. he knew you were interested in him, (because who wouldn't be?), and he was READY to make you his. he had firstly told MARI about liking you, to which she responded:
"finally! seriously, when are you guys getting together?"
she had basically directly outed to him the fact that you liked him... but it's fine, because he liked you back, of course! but he planned that shit out fully, (with a little bit of help from MARI). he asked you to meet him, evening time, at a beach just outside of FARAWAY TOWN, and when you got there... he had such a cute little picnic set up. it was actually adorable. he had bought you flowers and everything.
"is this a date, HERO?" you asked, laughing and sitting down next to him.
"perchance... if you want it to be,"
(...you can't just say perchance.)
he smiled that charming, gorgeous smile at you, and you couldn't help but blush. you enjoyed an amazing evening together, ate and took in the view of the beautiful sea. at the end of the night, before you left, he asked you to be his girlfriend. and of course, you said yes... i mean, it's literally HERO. and then he went home and bragged to all his family, and to MARI of course. they were incredibly happy for you both.

MARI:

    2 years of tutoring had now gone by, you were both 15. you had officially been adopted into their little group of friends long ago, and you were inseperable. especially you and MARI. you had become amazing friends, and even had your own little subunit group of friends aside from the rest consisting of you, her, and HERO, considering you were all older. MARI had kept the fact that she liked you all to herself for the longest time. it wasn't until the day of her piano recital with SUNNY that she finally decided to confess her feelings. (for the sake of the MARI section of this book, unlike the other character sections, i've made it so that MARI does NOT pass away the day of the recital, and it goes smoothly and as planned.) liking her, you were extremely excited to see her perform. she's gorgeous, and she's always been a beautiful pianist. you, HERO, KEL, and AUBREY, spent all day getting ready, excited to see them perform. you went to watch the recital and... it was beautiful. MARI looked stunning, as always, SUNNY looked cute, and they both played wonderfully. after the show, you all met up with them, gave flowers, complimented them, and they were both incredibly appreciative. MARI pulled you aside, out back of the building, stating she needed to talk to you, alone.
"thank you for coming tonight... it means a lot to me, and SUNNY."
"of course! anything for you. you looked... amazing... and you played wonderfully."
she blushes slightly and giggles. "stop... you're so sweet. thank you." she stands for a minute, hesitant about what she's going to say next. "hey... Y/N? um... you know... i really like you," she says. "would you maybe like to... go out with me sometime? just... me and you?"
you were shocked. you had been interested in her for a while... and you were surprised that someone as amazing as HER could ever even tolerate someone like you.
"...really?? ...i would love that."
