A knight swings its sword towards us as soon as we walk into the dungeon. Jin-Woo immediately lets my hand go to summon his dagger and attack the knight with the skill Critical attack. But it doesn't work. The knight swings his sword around, forcing him to duck. The player continues his attacks, but only my ears take damage from the screeching sound of metal objects colliding against one another.
"My turn," I warn Jin-Woo to stay back.
I jump up and grab the soldier's helmet to rip it apart.
{Notice
You have defeated a knight!}
"I guess all he had was thick armor," I say, tossing the pieces of iron to the side.
"Right. Thanks. We won't be able to avoid long, drawn out battles against magic beasts like this one. Is this guy even a magic beast?"
"In any case, it's definitely not a human. It's harder to tell with such a dim luminosity, but this knight is really just a scrap heap. I don't think this place is so different from the instance dungeons."
"You're right. We won't be able to leave until we've cleared this place, so we'd better save as much mana as we can. The most annoying thing about this dungeon is that the damage we take is accumulated." He stares at the blue windows that opened in front of us.
{Notice
[You are not permitted to leave this dungeon until you have completed the job change quest.]}
{Notice
[Consuming potions within this dungeon will have no effect and the shop function has been disabled. You will also not be able to recover your status upon leveling up.]}
"Skills like Camouflage, Immobilize and Critical Attack are pretty effective, but they use up too much mana," he grumbles.
"You should have invested more ability points in intelligence."
"How come you did?"
I shrug. "Seeing the system call me dumb was quite annoying so I fixed it."
He chuckles but soon regains his serious attitude. "This job change quest won't be easy. It'll take us hours to clear this quest... No, it may even take us days, so the fact that we can't heal ourselves means-"
"Even if we don't know what awaits us here, I don't think it'll last days. We'll be out of it before tomorrow morning," I interrupt him.
"Wait! Did we run today? I don't think I've even completed my daily quest today. I thought we could finish this quest quickly, so I was going to do it later tonight. I feel like I'll be chased around by a centipede again if I don't get it done by midnight."
"You got chased by a giant centipede when you didn't complete the daily quest?" I fake my surprise with a grin.
"Yeah, you don't want to live that, trust me." He shudders.
"But now that we've grown stronger, we might be able to beat that centipede, don't you think?"
"That's possible. We could try it. But before we do any of that-" We turn around to see four knights come our way, "we need to take care of these lumps of metal. Their only strong suit is their defense skills."
We shortly stare at each other then nod. We speed up towards them and each punch one of the knights with a perfect timing. The two soldiers fly into the wall, defeated. The two others turn towards us- Only to see that we aren't where we used to be. Falling from a high jump, we kick the remaining ones, smashing them into pieces.
