Kenji,
"Hey, Ami," Ken said as he opened the door to the reporter's apartment, seeing the woman sat on the floor between her couch and coffee table. Chiho was running around in her ultraman pajamas, pretending to fight Neronga until she saw Ken.
"Kenji!" The girl squealed, running up, and jumping into his arms.
The athlete gasped, quickly catching the girl as she threw herself at him, biting back a groan as his arm throbbed with a slight soreness, "Squirt!"
"Chiho! What have I told you about throwing yourself like that!" Ami scolded, immediately standing, reaching to take the girl from Kenji, "Sorry."
Kenji laughed, shrugging his shoulders, pulling the kid from her grasp, "I don't mind, she makes a good weight to build strength back in my arm." The athlete lifted the girl up and down into the air, smiling slightly when she laughed, spreading her limbs out like he did when he flew.
"Shuwatch! I am ultragirl! Here to save the day!"
Ken laughed, "Thank god! Neronga's attacking! You need to help!" He pretended to act like Mina, "flying" the girl to the play city she set up with her toys, "There! By Shibuya!"
He points to where she had the Neronga figurine set up, handing her her ultraman figure, smiling softly as he stood to his full height while the girl went back to playing. He turned back to Ami, seeing the woman with her arms crossed across her chest, lightly shaking her head at him, "How is that arm of yours? How's physical therapy been going?"
The athlete scrunched his nose, since getting his arm out of his cast, his coach immediately had his ass put in PT, and it was a bitch. His shoulder groaned in protest each time her tried to swing a bat, he could crack a ball as hard as he used to. Then with the training his dad had him undergoing to get back into being Ultraman...his arm was hurting like a bitch, and fighting Gomora yesterday took a lot out of him. He was tired, and it was clear he was trying to rush through that fight. He dropped the kaiju off a few miles off the coast and gunned it home.
"Slow, slow as hell," he rolled his shoulder, "So, what's this sport article you're writing?"
Ami called him this morning asking if he could come in for a short interview for an article she was writing, Since he was already planning on heading out to go check on how the first day of interviewing applicants for his assistant, Ami was right on the way.
"Well, your arm isn't going to heal in a day, it's going to take time, be patient," Ami sat back on the floor, patting the spot next to her, "As for the article, I'm writing for is for Yomiuri Shimbun, they want me to do a section on Zeros to heros in the sports industry...and well." She looked Ken up and down, "I have access to the biggest success stories of our generation, so I'm milking it."
Ken laughed, nodding his head, "Alright, fair enough," he sat with her, "What do you wanna know?"
Ami smiled appreciatively, "Uh..oh, before that, do you want anything, tea? Coffee? Water?"
"Uhm, tea, if you don't mind? Got any green tea?"
The reporter nodded, standing up, "I just got this new blend, you'll love it," she stood up, heading towards her kitchen.
Kenji stood up to follow her, her kitchen was a tiny thing, and enclosed space with not a lot of room. He leaned against the entrance, watching her as she set a kettle on her stove, heating the water up.
"So," he began to make small talk, "How's your day been going so far?"
"Not too bad, I had today off, so I got to relax with my favorite girl, right Chiho?" Ami called to her daughter. Chiho nodded, "Mhm! Mama took me out for lunch at Tonkatsu!"
