Kenji, Three days later,
The athlete groaned as his alarm clock startled him from his sleep, sitting up from his bed, wincing at the soreness all over his body.
Friday night had been rough, and he was still feeling it today
He had fought against that woman, she had thoroughly kicked his ass, and set off his color timer, forcing him to retreat from their fight. The KDF intervened, warding both her, and Godzilla away from the cost, but not before taking some heavy damage themselves. Godzilla had managed to reach the shore, approaching their headquarters, blowing up one of their buildings.
Safe to say his father had not been happy with him.
He still seriously sucked at this whole hero business, despite his fight with Onda...he still had ways to go.
Rubbing his shoulder, the same one that was still healing from said fight, and was now injured all over again when that girl hogtied him in the middle of the bay, twisting it painfully. Ken stood, hearing his father call for him over the intercom, hearing Emi chirp brightly in the background.
He grabbed his morning coffee, heading into the elevator, and down to the base. When he stepped out, he saw his father training Emi, he had her on that huge treadmill, making her chase holographic fishes.
"Ah, good morning, Kenji," His father greeted, "How are you feeling?"
"Like I had my ass throughly kicked," he grumbled into his coffee, his hair messily falling over his face, "Have you gotten any reports on Godzilla and that woman?"
It was odd, the kaiju just disappeared after that battle, boats had been searching for him, he and his father had taken the jet to look for him, but it was like he vanished.
How does a kaiju that big just disappear?
"No, but I have been closely monitoring radiation reports, but so far, there's nothing," Hayao answered, "Will you be going out today?"
Kenji nodded, running a hand over his face as he recalled his schedule for the day, "Yeah, I have to head down to the training center for training, and helping Shibuya coach some of the rookies. Then I think a photoshoot, some commercials, I don't even know."
Then he remembered.
"...I'll just ask my assistant when I get down to the training center, and text you," that's right, his assistant would be starting today, and thinking of the girl who called his game shit, perked him up just a tad.
"Ah, alright, I will keep you updated if something happens with Emi, alright?"
"Yeah," the athlete looked down at his father, "I'm gonna go get ready to head out," he then looked up to his baby girl, "Emi! Come say bye to daddy!"
Hearing his voice, the baby kaiju let out a little squeal, toddling off the treadmill as it came to a stop. She leaned down, allowing Kenji to bump his head against her beak, "You be good for jiji, alright?"
She nodded her head, letting out a series of chitters, nuzzling her father gently.
Kenji smiled, giving her light pink cheek a pat, and headed back over to the elevator, giving his family one more look over his shoulder.
Emi giggling as his father projected some of his baseball games, sitting down in an adorable cross cross, her face absolutely enamored. Who knew he'd end up with a baby kaiju for a kid? And who knew he'd love the squishy pink baby more than anything?
Not him, definitely not him, but damn did Emi flip his world in the best way possible, the sleepless nights were worth it.
He yawned, rolling his shoulders to ease the tension, feeling way passed the age of 26.
