...Then Kimi arrived in the kitchen, accompanied by a tall man with black hair and an unfriendly expression. Chaeyoung and Somi were startled by this, and the young woman felt a chill run down her spine from the hatred in Kimi's eyes.

"Over here, Aoki." Kimi spoke seriously, pointing to the door leading to the backyard, and the two headed there. Somi and Chaeyoung exchanged frightened looks, and the desperate look of the older woman revealed that she knew what was about to happen.

"Inbok!" Somi shouted, and despite her advanced age, she tried to run to stop the man from reaching her son.

Somi grabbed Aoki's arm, but he mercilessly pushed her violently against the wall, causing her to fall. Chaeyoung ran to help her.

When they reached the backyard, Kimi and Aoki found Inbok watering some flowers, and he looked confused to see them coming towards him. Before he could say or do anything, the soldier punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

With Inbok on the ground and defenseless, Aoki started kicking him, and the young man could only put his hands over his head, trying to protect it.

Somi got up limping, and when she reached the backyard with Chaeyoung, the two were desperate to see the young Korean being cowardly beaten by that brute.

"No! My son!" Somi screamed, desperate, at the horrible scene.

"Stop, please!" Inbok begged, not understanding why he was being assaulted like that, but Aoki was ruthless and kept kicking him more and more intensely until he lost consciousness.

Aoki grabbed Inbok and started dragging him out of the house.

"Inbok!" Somi went after the man, who acted as if she didn't exist, ignoring all her maternal pain. "Where are you taking my son?"

"Shut up!" Kimi shouted at the Korean woman, staring at her. "It's better to go back to your chores if you don't want to be punished. I don't care if you're old!"

Somi looked at Kimi with hatred and knew that only her old age prevented her from attacking the Japanese woman. If she were young and still had strength, she would attack her without a second thought.

Aoki took the unconscious Inbok out of the house and threw him into the trunk of a car parked in front of the Myoui's house.

In the backyard, Somi knelt on the ground and cried desolately. Chaeyoung knelt beside her and hugged her, in a futile and frustrating attempt to console a mother who was losing her last son.

They didn't know where Inbok was being taken, but they were sure they would never see him again.

After some time, Chaeyoung managed to take Somi to the woman's room, where the elder lay on the bed, still crying profusely with no sign of improvement.

Chaeyoung also felt her heart bleeding. She had lost another person she loved at the hands of the Japanese. Despite all the problems she had been having with Inbok, she loved him, and thinking about continuing life without him was horrible, not to mention the fear of what might happen to Somi after seeing her son brutalized in that way and then losing him definitively.

"My boy..." Somi murmured through her tears. Chaeyoung was by her side, gently stroking her white hair, but she didn't even know what to say. There was no way in the world to console a mother who had lost her three sons in such a terrible way. "Those damn bastards! Those damn bastards took my three boys... My boys... Yunho, Kinam, and now Inbok..."
