"Are you ready?" Taehyung asked softly as Annie stepped into the living room. A small, wistful smile tugged at Taehyung's lips as he saw her in his oversized clothes.
She seemed so fragile, wrapped in memories.
"Yeah," Annie replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Wait, let me get the keys," Taehyung said, disappearing into his room.
Annie glanced around the living room, her eyes lingering on the locked door that had always intrigued her.
"Let's go," Taehyung called, returning with the keys in hand.
"Taehyung, what's behind that door? It's always locked. Why?" she asked, her curiosity tinged with a hint of apprehension.
Taehyung's expression tightened briefly before he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's something special," he said vaguely.
"What kind of special?" she pressed, her heart fluttering nervously.
"I'll show you another time. Let's go now," he deflected gently, taking her hand and leading her towards the door.
"Wait, but—" she started, but he cut her off.
"Come on, let's go," he urged, his grip firm yet comforting.
"Did you talk to Somi?" Taehyung broke the silence in the car.
Annie nodded slowly. "Yes, I did," she murmured, her gaze distant.
"She's worried, but I reassured her. I'm not alone anymore," she added, forcing a small smile.
Taehyung returned her smile warmly, his eyes reflecting concern and support.
"What about your parents? Did you tell them?" he asked softly.
Annie's shoulders sagged.
"I told them I called off the wedding, but I couldn't bring myself to tell them what Jungkook did to me," she confessed, her voice trembling with lingering pain.
Taehyung reached out and squeezed her hand gently, wordlessly offering his understanding and empathy.
At her apartment,
"You wait here. I'll pack and be back soon," Annie said, stepping out of the car.
"But why? I want to come with you," Taehyung protested softly.
"No, Taehyung. You're not just anyone; you're a superstar idol. If anyone finds out who you are, it'll cause a scandal," she explained anxiously, concern etched on her face.
"Okay. Just... come back quickly," Taehyung relented reluctantly, his eyes lingering on her with worry.
Annie took a deep breath as she approached her apartment door. This place held memories, both painful and cherished, of the love she once shared with Jungkook. She was determined to move forward, away from his deceitful grasp.
Moving a flower pot aside to find the spare keys, Annie's heart sank as she realized they weren't there. Somi must have moved them when she left.
"That girl didn't even lock the door," Annie muttered, shaking her head in exasperation. She turned the doorknob cautiously and was surprised to find it unlocked.
As she stepped inside and closed the door behind her, a chill ran down her spine. Something didn't feel right.
Opening the bedroom door, Annie's eyes widened in shock.
Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed, his head bowed. When he looked up and saw her, a mixture of longing and possessiveness flickered in his eyes.
Despite herself, Annie's heart raced with a blend of fear and unresolved emotions. Jungkook had shattered her world leaving her heartbroken and then behaved crazily. He didn't even feel that he did anything wrong.
