Private Ceremony

Mia
After seeing Catherine Smith early in the morning and proving she stole my designs and sold them as her own she was fired and charges were pending. Scott my driver started driving me home after a very long day. I am exhausted and fall asleep almost as my seatbelt was on. Soon I am awakened by squealing tires and Scott yells get down and cover your body and face. He makes a few moves and puts the driver side in the line of the hummer that is heading towards us at high speed. He tells me that I need to try to keep away from whoever the driver is. Our back up security car can't get to us. The hummer has backed up and my driver is definitely dead. The hummer's drive is Catherine Smith and is heading towards my area and I can't get free of the car and I can't stay awake, something has hit me. I see my grandparents and they are welcoming me with open arms. There are others I don't recognize but they look like me. I am seeing them and then hearing cries of babies. Then I see beautiful flowers and my grandma is holding my hand guiding me through a beautiful garden. There are so many people welcoming me. I watch from a distance and see Thomas looking at a grave and I see the headstone. Mia Sawyer it has my birthdate and my date of death. I see Emily and two tiny bundles in a double stroller. Grandma tells me the boys are alive and they survived thanks to Scott and my protective stance in the car. I see Scott walking towards us. He looks defeated.

Thomas
I can't believe she is gone and Catherine Smith is trying to get off on an insanity plea. She just walked away with cuts and bruises. I am trying to hold things together for our children. I have had a lot of support but I need to grieve for Mia and our friends and driver Scott. His wife is barely holding it together. Their four children are all very sad and they can't understand why their daddy s dead and why the mean woman killed their father and Mia. Olivia Barnes is trying to find a way to get through her husband's death and Scott jr, Samantha, Linda and David are all too young to know what death is, they are stair steps. 5, 4, 3 and 2 years of age. Debbie is a lot of help for all of us. Emily has been through so much and she's not been able to sleep at night unless she is in my arms. I finally got her to sleep in her own bed and with her favorite toy. I put a photo of Mia where she can look at it. I recorded an old message so she can hear her mother's voice and it helped.

Grace
I was devastated when they told me Mia was killed by Catherine Smith and Scott her driver was the first to die and he gave his life to try to save Mia. Sadly it wasn't enough to save Mia but it did save her sons. All of us held a private burial for both Mia and Scott. We made sure Olivia and her children were safe and taken care of. I had a hard time seeing her lying there in the casket. I wanted it to all be a nightmare. Emily has finally been able to sleep after her mother's death. She knows her mother is not coming home again. Thomas had to take time off to care for himself and the children.

Carrick
I made sure Catherine wasn't going to be able to get an insanity plea deal. She going up for murder because she rented that hummer and waited for Mia and her driver. It's strange not to have Mia in our lives any longer. We transferred her trust funds to Thomas and he really didn't want them, but he asked that they be transferred to the children. I helped him with that and we also went after Catherine's fortune and got it all for both spouses and their children. Everything was frozen and she had to use a public defender. She has two life sentences along with other sentences endangering two unborn babies and causing premature births. She won't be getting out ever again.

Kate
Thomas allowed me to investigate Catherine Smith and I crucified her in the newspaper and on line. I was able to show her in the worst light and the investigators were given enough evidence to assure she did this premeditatedly. She definitely got the max and serving sequentially so that means she might never get out of jail alive. I had no idea how many lives were affected by Mia and Scott until their funerals. We had a private funeral for both and then they allowed the public in to grieve their deaths so I stayed behind to get pictures and comments.

Kelly
I helped Kate get the stories together about Mia and Scott and how many people they affected. It shocked me that Mia had such a giving heart. We worked together and asked for releases from everyone involved in the stories. She was building a homeless shelter and volunteered at different places to help get clothing donations for all ages and sizes. Some of her designs were created just to sell to make money for her charities. Grace took over what she could and asked for the family to volunteer. Anastasia volunteered and Kate did as well. Charlotte and Ashley also got involved. I was about to but my schedule changed dramatically.

Christian
I helped with the charities and Elliott was kicking butt getting the building up and running and naming it after Mia. I added another building to help with the project and Elliott is working on it day and some nights. There's a lot of work involved and it will take six months to get things done.
